  1. Not a popularity contest. I earned some points because I tried to do something interactive, positive and educational. You took a tiny little beating because you simply whined, tried to do something negative, and then whined again, which is why you'll get negative points again. Your experience here is not normal. Very few of the new members stay and whine. They either need to whine, and eventually leave, or they step up to the plate and try and be productive and intelligent. You've done neither. You don't leave, yet you continue to whine. I hope better for you...I'm just waiting to see if you'll ever want better for yourself. I'm grateful for your posts though as this is an excellent example for the new members that want to do better for themselves. Thanks for participating. Dwayne

  2. In our area the use of handcuffs requires the LEO remain with the patient and until recently the use of soft restraints was firmly discouraged. Chemical restraints just ticks the medics off cause 'they got to come all the way out here for this crap'. Honestly I like the psych patients they are interesting.

  3. Posts like this prevent you from getting a job. Learn to speak English, or at least type it. Then maybe someone will let you try your hand at EMS.

  4. Keep in mind the jumper in this sad situation is an autistic boy. Was he violent? Was he panicking because he was being removed from what he was comfortable with as many autistic have difficulty with change?

  5. This particular lady has excellent quality of life, so as long as she friggin' wants to fight for is my vote!! She told us the other day she's got to make it to a hundred and one because "Her Name 101" sounds like a "college basket weaving course!!" She's absolutely one of the most amazing women I've ever had the chance to meet. I will be very sad when she finally makes her exit. I wish she was a DNR, personally, so that they wouldn't have to work her when she does code... but it's her choice and I respect that. She apparently had some elevated cardiac enzymes, but not to the point that would indicate an MI (got this second hand from a nurse, so not sure if I got the full picture or not.) They were in fact thinking cardiac, as most of the rest of her labs came back within normal limits (or normal for her I guess I should say.) She was given the amoxicillin due to having developed a slight abscess related to an extraction. The amoxicillin was maintained throughout her hospital stay and still administered upon return to our facility, so I think we can mostly rule that out. She's normally hypertensive but is on beta-blockers (found that out digging through her computerized chart) at a very low dose to maintain her more within a "normal" range. No real evidence of sepsis according to what they did for her in hospital. As far as having her self ambulate, I certainly wouldn't have... but that's me... Thanks all for your responses!! She was definitely a puzzler, but she's back up and running and seems no worse for the wear! Wendy CO EMT-B

  7. Funny because after my post in this thread my "rep" went to negative something. Funny, the popularity contest. Another reason why this site can suck sometimes!

  8. Be ready to be belittled and criticized for every tiny thing you may mention. The attitude here is "you are wrong, so we will trash you for it" no matter what. Ignore those people, some of us here are friendly and understand.
