  1. Its funny you bring this up. A crew from my service a few weeks ago took this unruly driver's license plate down and gave it to PD, not 3 hours later they went to his house and issued him a ticket. From what i heard the driver was a lot like you and would not pull over and made it extremely difficult for the ambulance to proceed. PD in my area does not put up with ignorant drivers such as yourself.

  2. Can't really say that's my typical day. I don't argue with dispatch, that's like shooting the messenger. It's not their fault a nursing home sits on a patient that ill. It's also not the patient's fault that they are ill. It may not even be the nurse's fault that they sat on the patient all day. They have protocols, and they often state that they can't send a patient out until labs are reviewed by the physician. He may not have gotten the lab work until 11 pm that night. Do you know how serious abnormal labs can actually become for a person? Very serious, and very dangerous. Besides, running calls doesn't bother me like it seems to bother a lot of other people in EMS. It's my job. If people didn't call 911, they wouldn't have a reason to keep me employed. Just so no one has their feelers hurt, this post is NOT directed at the OP. It's just a statement on the video itself. Let them get their bearings here in the city before they get their butt jumped on. Plenty have posted those text to talk videos so it's only natural to think others here may find them funny. I don't, but I guess some people do.

  3. It started out funny, but then turned into poor taste when he went off on the patient (rather than the situation). Good first post man...good way to start out your rep

  4. Ahh Turnip, I agree with your concerns about representation being in the best interest of our Profession. I also agree that there are many single or divorced fathers who are wearing multiple hats as well. I would like to see some focus in this documentary on the acceptance of women into EMS in the last 25 years. (ok, I am showing my age). When I wanted to be a medic 25 years ago, I was told "go be a nurse - women don't become medics." Now, it is a perfectly acceptable career choice. Tniuqs, like you, I wonder why the focus tends to be on those women who are mothers. The vast majority of women who are mothers chose to be (and also had the choice not to be), and I am always wondering why media tends to put moms who work outside the home on such a pedestal, when there are so many people out there who do just as much - the single dads who are raising kids... the parent who is not only raising children but is taking care of elderly parents themselves... the person working their way through school while working 2 jobs and taking care of family members. Just my 2 cents...

  5. Clearly, a person who is in too much of a hurry. I appreciate the reasoning of the spelling of Bambulance. But the user failed to spell ambulance properly. Just sayin'.

  6. I've never condoned the "EMS vs ___________________" mentality. It's this type of thought process that contributes to the poor view that others have of EMS in the world of public service. I've never found these types of videos even slightly humerous. If the author is in EMS, it would generally make me question their professionalism.

  8. If they pull me over every time I would sue the police for civil rights violation. Ever hear of probable cause? As for why i am saying what i am saying, it's because it's the fact about asking for permission. An ambulance crew and fire truck are asking(demanding) permission to pass. Unlike police officer they can not issue a ticket. Also a police can't just issue a ticket unless he/she witness the violation and knows who was driving. It do not work like parking ticket which is issued to the register owner. Yes i agree i am an SOB and also very selfish person. SOB is my middle name for you information

  9. I was replying to that specific case. Generally yes if an officer witness the incident of driver refusing to pull over for emergency vehicle a ticket can be issued. The law that you posted is nice on paper but useless in real life. A cop needs to actually witness the violation and pull you over. Unless that happens all the laws in the world can't do anything about it.

  10. I can only die once so if an ambulance do not get in time to me oh well i guess i will not make it. Yes i am hearthless jerk and coward and enjoy it every minute of my life.

  11. Did you even have to ask that question? The very obvious answer is NO, NO, NO

  12. It's very simple actually. The driver should use all available room to get around the vehicle or he/she can just crawl behind that vehicle till he is able to pass it.

  13. Big deal, an ambulance still can't issue me a ticket unless cop witness it and pulls me over.. So basically it still a request.

  14. That would be very stupid as cross traffic will hit me and it will be my fault. If an ambulance with lights gets in to accident usually they are at fault as they must wait till intersection is clear before proceeding.

  15. I am educated enough to know how to block you out and not get a ticket. If I do get a ticket, i know how to win it.

  17. Good to know i set new record Giving ems crew middle finger while they trying to get around you going code 3 is not the same as posting on the net and telling them what you think.

  18. All ambulance crew needs to understand that unless cop is around a siren on ambulance is there request permission to pass being that you can't issue a driver a ticket for refusing to get out of your way. As such it's the driver if he/she decides to let you through or not. Blasting your siren or using your pa is not going to get you around me as only thing it will do is get a middle finger from me. Writing my plate will not help you as an officer needs to witness the violation before he/she can issue a ticket being that an officer would need to pull me over to issue that ticket.
