  1. Wouldn't cardioversion, whether electrical or chemical in nature; be considered 'heroic measures'? I'm trying to grasp the differences, since the intended outcome would be the same. Is this just a matter of semantics? It's been my understanding that DNR means DO NOT resuscitate. Isn't cardioversion considered 'resuscitation', or 'resuscitative measures'? Like I said, I'm not trying to be 'difficult', or play the Devil's Advocate here. This is a true quest for enlightenment.

  2. I was lucky enough to actually be a graduate of Bob Page's entire paramedic program at St. John's in Missouri. I'd be more then willing to help you get through 12-leads as well. I feel your pain. I was laid off recently and took the only job I could find and I hate it. I won't go into why it's so bad, but it would have been better for me to collect unemployment then to worry about getting fired because I am trying to protect my certification (yep, paramedics are only "certified" in PA). Perhaps you're getting to the point where you're so down on the whole thing that it's actually hindering your interview and testing process. It's easy to say "relax" and "cheer up, it'll get better" but when you're living, it's really the last thing you want to hear. I do wish you all the luck in the world and hope your tide turns soon.
