  1. Hello there I am Hannah Gorden, I am 25y, and just had the most cuties twins ever one boy and one girl. If there are any moms out there or dads that can help me with ways to be calmer with loving them and still being able to run a rescue squad right please feel free to say it thanks!! Good Bye Hannah

  3. I did get into this to help people, so did a lot of RNs that I know. But I won't do it for free, and I know that if you tried to make the RNs I know do it for free, you'd have a not so small riot on your hands. I expect a living wage to be paid to me for my time. Having food on the table trumps any desire I have to volunteer (which isn't any actually).

  4. I've never had occasion to use them. There are other methods we can utilize if we suspect that the patient is faking unconciousness, like scraping the bottom of the feet, brushing the eyelashes and the 'hand drop' tests. I've heard stories from other crews about how they picked up a drunk during their shift and popped 3 or 4 of them into the NRB, and then laughed about how fast the patient 'came to'... Yeah, we've got to do things that will cause discomfort and even pain, but to intentionally do it is abuse. I've heard crew members talking about how they intentionally used the largest bore cath they had on a drunk, unlicensed pharmacist or the 'urban outdoorsman' just because they could. I find these practices appalling, and I'm utterly disgusted by those that feel the need to employ such tactics for their amusement!

  6. Personaly I feel if you go into the EMS system its because you care for others. There are people out there that do join the system too. wether it be they lost a family member, a best friend, or just they like the smile they get form helping someone on the street. I make sure before I hire someone that they will not lose or forget the reason they wanted to become an EMT-B, I, P, or an volly member. The ones I do pay you can bet if they were to slip and forget why they do what the do. They would be talked to. Or something around that. Join because you want to help others. Not for MONEY!!! Good Bye Hannah
