  1. I've been in my EMT-B class for about 2 months now and loving it! We do a lot of hands on senarios in class and a lot of us were always confused about what we were supposed to be doing (order, etc). We were asked by our teacher if we would like to be a "victim" for another class taking the NREMT certifications. I tell you, it really cleared things up. You are either asked to be the assistant or the victim. You cannot give hints or help (with out them asking) to the person taking the test, but it really helped make things very clear. It's a great way to get some insight as to what you will be tested on and how the test will be run. Being a "victim" really helped me gain my confidence and am now kicking some behind in the in class assessments. Anyway, just a thought from a noob. -MetalMedic

  2. White shows dirt and other contaminints, both biological and other particulate, and is, in some oriental cultures, the rfepresentative color of death, much as black is the representative color of death in US and UK countries. The pullover knit shirts used in "summer uniform" by the FDNY were never my "thang". I preferred the older 7 button "military" style, as I felt it looked somewhat more professional, plus, I use the shirt pockets. The knits don't have pockets. Yes, I know it makes me look a bit more like our FF and LEO brothers and sisters, but, to me, the EMT patch on my right shoulder is sometimes more important than the agency patch on the left.

  3. That is what he does. He wants a preticular answer, and if you don't give it, he will just keep changing the story till you agree so he can convince himself he was right all along. You'll just have to excuse Crotchity, he clearly has self-esteem issues, but he has been here long enough to prove he is not going away. Do yourself a favor and don't get wrapped up in petty arguments like this.... you cannot win. On the other note: I started dating my wife when I was 15, she was 14. We were sexually active by the age of 15. Should I have went to jail for starting my relationship with my wife so young? Oh ya.... simple math.... for a few months I was 18, and she was underage. Thankfully we abstained from sex during that time , or I could have been arrested for having a sex life with my wife. Seems different when the relationship sticks don't you think?

  4. Your not even making sense now. Comparing teenage sex with elder abuse? Intent means something here... What about the fact that reporting prosecuting this "crime" creates two registered sex offenders? Ya think THAT may have an effect on the rest of their lives, especially given the lynch mob attitude that seems to go along with that label? You also seem to only be focusing on the consequences for the female which is an outdated, sexist and incredibly narrow point of view. If we prosecute one party, they both need to be prosecuted. Part of the parents job is to prepare and educate their kids about the risk involved in sex and protecting themselves from those risk. Relying on archaic laws and idiotic "abstinence only" education programs is burying their head in the sand to reality. When my daughter is 15 I hope she's not having sex. However I'm not going to try to forcefully stop her from it. She damn well will have information on the risk, possible consequences and how to protect herself from those. Making her a convict accomplishes what?

  5. Because they're kids!! Everything that causes someone a scab doesn't need to put someone in jail!! Sometimes pain just happens..its how we learn. Kids fuck kids...it's a fact of life and not that big of a deal. Yeah...even when a baby is made. Adults fuck kids?...it's kind of a big deal. The adult needs to be raped because the Oprah crowd is going to convince the kid that S/he can't be healthy unless someone loses their literal or figurative life for it. But unfortunately it's Oprah that cause the majority of the damage, not the 'toucher'. Sometimes sex is just sex!! I had sex maybe....1000 times before I was 18..I mean, I didn't count, but look at what a pillar of society I turned in to!! Pain is inevitable..lets not make learning from our mistakes a crime. violence is a crime..it should be punished. Mutual dumbshittery is just part of growing up..lets not make it a bigger deal than it already is... Nah man...I don't report kid A and kid B for being kids..I only report victims.... Dwayne

  6. Because many of my patients would run away thinking I was border patrol.
