  1. Are you asking this question because you seriously cannot figure it out, or are you just lashing out because you got checked to the boards in Act I of this thread? Obviously, we’ve established that what you’re attempting to define as ‘pornography’ is protected as free speech by the U.S. Supreme Court and that it IS legal to view not only in public libraries, but pretty much in public. What this guy is charged with is called harassment. It could further be included in the definition of sexual harassment, both of which are illegal. The legal definition of harassment is as follows: Based on the allegations in the article, one would think that this guy would have realized that his behavior is unacceptable and therefore would amend such behaviors before they get him into more trouble; obviously that isn’t the case here. I’m curious as to why you’re implying that these two examples are even remotely related. The implied corollary is that since pornography in public is protected as ‘free speech’, then what this guy is charged with should be protected as a demonstration of free speech. Unfortunately (at least for him) what he’s done is considered a criminal act, and there is no precedence of the U.S. constitution protecting criminal activities. I have to agree, it's very tempting to deliver a 'Gibbs slap to the back of the head' just to get him to start thinking....(blatant and shameless NCIS plug) 1. http://definitions.uslegal.com/h/harassment/

  2. Why do you capitalize porn? And if you can't see the difference between defending a persons right to free speech and equal access to information whether or not one can afford a home computer, and another hosemonkey being inappropriate and unprofessional while on duty, then you just simply don't have the intellect to understand this discussion I'm afraid. And yes, that is a serious comment, not an attempt to insult you for sport....though these types of posts make the latter so very tempting.... Dwayne

  3. Adults living with ADHD are not like children. You do not get to use it as an excuse for being disruptive, or lacking concentration. A HUGE portion of living with ADD/ADHD as an adult is impulse control. There are massiva amounts of information and workshops on how to deal with adult ADHD, in extreme cases you may need medicated even if only temporarily to help you through school. Here are some things that DO work * Silly puddy/stress ball * Scrap paper to doodle on * Chewing gum * Get plenty of sleep (helps with attention) * Set timelines & allow yourself "release" time. That is to say "From 1pm to 2:30 I need to concentrate on books, at 2:30 I will jog for 5min" * Be cognitive of the disorder. Realize when you are running out of breath just talking.... you have probably been rambling. * As opposed to what others are saying, stay away from video games as they are stimulating an over stimulated brain

  4. I know we run Emergency Departments in Australia a little diffrent from the US, we tend not to encourage primary health patients to attend ED rather to seek assistance from there local doctor at a medical clinic. But this does not always work as we still see a high number of minor treatment cases present. I think posting billboards around town is a waste of time and money, just think of the how ever many thousands of dollars the hospital is spending on getting these things set up, hiring the signs ect. Could we not use this money to provide a better service? I mean, at the end of the day... You either need a doctor or you dont...

  5. The big reason for Paramedics is to stop a code before it begins. WHAT YOU SCREAM? You get on scene and find the patient it name the arrhythmia and out of your magic box you inject them with you name the drug and arrhythmia improves and you now transport them for definitive care and they return home intact. WHY YOU SCREAM? Because you practiced preventive medicine. An EMT-I or just an emt has to wait until the patient dies. DIES YOU SCREAM? Yes dies because once pulse less they are dead, so you as an emt or EMT-I just sit there going wow this guy looks bad wish I could do something. BAM he's dead now I can do something so you start CPR hook up AED and in the end deliver a corpse to the hospital all the while claiming nobody dies in my ambulance. Everyone that claims that is a liar or just stupid? HOW DARE YOU YOU SCREAM!!!! Yes you are ignorant because if you are doing CPR they are dead and just because they are not legally pronounced means nothing they were dead in your ambulance and death was just confirmed in the ER. SO PARAMEDICS ARE NEEDED SO PEOPLE DO NOT GET TO THE POINT OF BEING DEAD IN OUR AMBULANCE OR ELSEWHERE!!!!! No we are not going to stop every patient we treat for an arrhythmia from dieing but at least we are giving them a true chance. SO yes every ambulance should have a Paramedic.

  8. Good question, as I am sure you know, alcohol has no cleaning properties other than being wet, so betadine is preferred.
