  2. Yet again you fail to provide an original scientific article providing the link. You cite a website that gives someone's opinion based on some studies that were never published because they were so poorly done. Do you understand the difference between fact and opinion? I'll help you out a little so you stop looking so stupid. Go to pubmed and see what you can come up with. Edit: Do you ever research the crap you spew? Based on the current vaccination schedule, an infant will receive 4mg of aluminum in the first 6 months of life. During that same time period, they will receive 10mg from breast milk, 40mg from infant formula or 120mg from soy based formula. Yup, must be those vaccines. http://www.chop.edu/export/download/pdfs/articles/vaccine-education-center/aluminum.pdf

  3. We "poo-poo" studies when the people who orchestrated said studies deliberately falsified data, data that could not and has not been reproduced. Oh, there may have been something about lawyers paying somebody $600,000 + dollars to falsify the data. Also, sometime we "poo-poo" when people make the following connections regarding their impressions of causality:

  5. Awesome news ... I am 0 x 1000% convinced and am on my way to become a Buddhist and practice Voodoo this very minute. I believe that is due to chance .. anti-chance .. just saying. And as if marketing does not affect " Read My Book On My Conspiracy Theory" or "Watch My Interview" bandwagon because that's not a cash cow either. The best and most informative was that the "governments" invented AIDS portion .. wow very enlightening that. Perhaps look back to his 1600 + posts and use your own judgment. Yes, I too know a very few pple that agree with his perspective in this area, some believe in magic too and that gogi juice cure's cancer, unfortunately they are too swayed by sensational journalistism by poorly educated individuals that profess they are experts, voicing options without real facts. This when he know very well that a few are personally far more adept and personally experienced in daily life on these hot topics, is cause to believe that he may not be, what he professes to be.

  6. You also need to be suspect of any blood glucose reading in the field, for a variety of reasons in any patient: 1. The glucometers are slung around, dropped, and are exposed to heat/cold extremes that the manufacturer does not approve of. 2. Read number one above but exchange glucometer with glucometer strips. 3. Many EMS agencies do not run "controls" as often as recommended. Most hospital glucometers have controls ran at least once per 24 hours. 4. You are measuring surface capillary blood, there are a variety of illnesses and conditions that can cause an inaccurate reading. Some simple examples, an obese patient, or a patient who knew their sugar was dropping so they put some sugary food in their mouth with the same finger you tested, and you failed to clean it properly. Hopefully, your teacher will tell you on day one to "TREAT THE PATIENT, NOT THE EQUIPMENT", but if not, you have just received your first EMS lesson. Study hard grasshopper ! P.S. In the old days an amp of D50 and 1-2 amps of bicarb was standard treatment for all out of hospital arrests (including trauma). Not saying that was good or bad, just throwing in some history for perspective.

  8. I don't think that there is even any scientific evidence necessary to show that you're either and idiot, or a troll. Maybe both, but I doubt it. You can't have it both ways man... According to your theory...well, lets have a pop quiz Einstein...what is 0x1000%? Uhm...yeah, and we have more autistics than that, right? Just let it go Babe. Not sure if you've been here long enough to know about him. He's just here to get people's panties in a bunch. He'll make his silly arguments, refuse to answer any questions that requires logic and/or intelligent defense and stay just long enough to try and prove that Autism is a plaque created by 'whitey' to try and wipe out the black man, as 'he's' failed so miserably to do with AIDS. He's a racist and an idiot and it makes him hard to see folks get stirred up over his nonsense...just for fun lets try and cheat him out of this erection.. Dwayne

  9. Hey Steph, Welcome. What is a paramedic intern? Are you in medic school now? If so, what kind of a program? And please don't break my heart already and tell me you just want to be a fireperson... My best advice here? Participate. Everyone here has something to learn, and we all have something to teach. Sometimes the most valuable thing to come out of a thread is additional practice in debate. But that's a good thing too in my opinion. Spend time in the scenario forums. Take your best shot trying to answer questions or asking for assessment information, but never google your questions/answers first. This is about developing your brain and you confidence, and both can be practiced well here. We've got about the average number of perv's here I'm guessing that will have more interest in flirting than learning, but I have a feeling that you can handle them fine. It's good to have you here. Often folks feel intimidated for not being as advanced as some, but I'll tell you what. Brave new folks are my favorite as they ask the questions, and have ideas that many haven't even considered for a really long time. Many are fresh out of college level A&P and man, my brain leaks that like Harley leaks oil..I always love a review. With a very few exceptions I've come here nearly every day for..hell, I can't see my joined date thingy..but a few days now, and it's truly the best resource ever. Some times it's complete and utter bullshit, but just consider those times the dues you pay for the times when it is absolutely magic. Good to have you girl... Dwayne

  14. I cannot believe I am responding to your stupidity (ignoring my own advice) but here it goes. Not one of those websites provide any scientific evidence. They all give the opinions of obvisously biased sources with a poor understanding of medicine and science. I still challenge you to provide a scientificly valid piece of evidence showing the link. Edit: If there are so many "studies that show the proof that vaccines cause autism," why haven't you been able to produce any of them?

  15. Wow, just came back to this thread. Didn't think anyone had posted in it. I appreciate the bits of input from some of you, thanks. And wow, crotchity, I am really glad I don't know you in person because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to keep myself from kicking your ass. I can't help but wonder, do you just get a kick out of stirring shit up and pissing people off online? Or are you actually that ignorant? If so, man, I feel sorry for you. "PSTD is weaklings who are looking for a way out." Wow, just wow. I don't even know how to respond to that. Actually, I don't think it's really worth responding to.

  16. Fiz I have to agree with you if you really need a line then AC is way closer to the heart for meds, starting lines in feet is not good for any med delivery and plus patients kick, my personal experience is a PITA line especially with decreased perfusion pathology or the blue hair crowd. Again, personally I believe this gas passer was just a tosser s/he had 2 lines and push come to shove could infuse blood (not positive of underlying pathology here but circling the drain is something I understand ) and with an introducer could have rethreaded a larger bore if needed in OR or get a shlep Resident MD to do it for him. On the other side of the fence if Timmy did not have 2 patient lines this primadona gas passer would have been pissed off more. cheers

  17. Good god! Where is the hate button for these posts? Just because we didn't call it PTSD, doesn't mean it didn't exist. During and after WW1 it was called "shell shock", with the signs, symptoms and effects well documemted and still hold true to this day. Civillian's though were general labelled as having a "melancholy" or a "deep neurosis" and quite often ended up in a lunatic asylum for their troubles. Not that they were "nuts" but because we had such a pathetic understanding of it. The exact same sypmtoms were present in soldiers who came home from WW2, Korea and Vietnamam. My grandfather suffered PTSD from the day he was shipped back from korea, and it haunted him till the end of his days, only it was initally labelled as "depression" Labels change asshole, just because we called it something else does not mean it did not exist. For example, sometime in the past, someone with an english accent may have referred to you as being an "confrontational fellow". These days, i suspect you would just be a "F*&#!ng twat"
