  1. If your grammar in this thread reflects the grammar on your resume, I would say the path may be bleak.

  3. Greeing earthlings! I started posting 6 or 7 years ago when i was still at university getting my batchelors degree, you know, when you have free time and life was measured between drinking sessions rather than assessments - i would log in and get the musings of dustdevil, paramedicmike, dwayne, eydawn (sp?), kat, akflight, chbear, davis and all the other names i cant think of right now, and i would think to myself that i would like to be half as good as these people Then life (reality) got in the way Then i got a job Then i got a wife Then i got a mortgage And then i stopped posting, but it still drop in from time to time, but things have taken a turn the last few weeks, Becasue a fortnight ago on wednesday i was informed i had passed selection for MICA / ICP education which will bring with it a hole new world of hurt and adventure, so i will still lurk and not post. But the people here are still part of my inspiration Thanks guys

  4. Perhaps, but I still cannot fault individuals for improving their personal situation. All the raw raw soap box speeches will not keep your kids fed or make the house and car payments. I agree with advancing the profession and that is one of the reasons I am in education. However, I cannot call somebody out for making honest decisions that could improve their overall life situation. This also goes for nurses who move to other professions such as physician assistant or respiratory therapists who move onto nursing, medicine or physician assistant. I could call all these people out for not supporting their professions, but personal choice and advancement is much more important IMHO.

  5. I thought that you were going to be out of town Scuba!! When I wanted to meet up you were going to be visiting your mom or something, but when Chris comes, suddenly you're home? Ahhhh....I see how you are... :-) What an amazing visit. Chris and his wife stayed for two nights, Eydawn came down for an evening... You know what's amazing, is to meet a friend that I've had here for 7 years (Chris, I've known Wendy for a long time) and find out that he is exactly what I'd hoped, and what he'd seemed, online, to be. And to find out that his wife is beautiful, charming, and great company too?...it was unthinkable. Chris, you and your girl are welcome here any time. And the more often, then better. We would have loved to have had you Scuba...but I truly thought that you'd told me that you were going to be out of town. And CSboulder, no offense by not inviting you, but I don't know you very well yet and I worried about having to many people unfamiliar with each other together all at once, know what I mean? Each time I meet someone from the City it reminds me that we all really need to make a larger effort to make these meet and greets happen more often. The City truly is full of the most incredible people that I've ever met... Love you Chris, Wendy, Cheryl....I can't wait until next time...

  7. Unfortunately, the name of the game is often "cooperate to graduate" when it comes to nursing school. I have a degree in nursing and have never considered teaching nursing, focusing on respiratory therapy and EMS instead. Clearly, if you are concerned about abuse, your programme and college have policies and said policies should be available to look up through the student handbooks (online line or in print). This route will be a judgement call and just understand that you have to choose your battles. I am hesitant to comment on knowing more than somebody. I may catch or notice certain issues, but I also expect a physician to call me out when I'm having a moment where I'm not at the top of my game. Things like allergies and harmful medication interactions, routes or doses are quite easy to slip through the cracks. I rather see it as doing my job as part of a greater team. This is especially true with residents who are essentially students learning the ropes.
