  1. Guess it depends what kind of Felony.
  2. leave it. Mother, Jugs & Speed DVD
  3. At least the managerial staff of a business should be trained with American Red Cross, Standard First Aid and Adult CPR with Bloodborne Pathogens. I had assumed for a long time that all businesses had to have an OSHA approved first aid/CPR kit. However, after this long in EMS, I've come to realize that most have none at all.
  4. You're a medic? Could have fooled me.. You didn't buy your "license" on eBay did you?
  5. Maybe you should become an undertaker, instead of a paramedic?
  6. Which ever you want.
  7. I'm not a religious person, I think that when you die.. We can't just keep you, and people feel the need to mourn, have some closure. So, they fill your body with toxins, so the rotting and putrefaction process is slowed down, and then seal you in a vault that turns you into stew.. and that's that. I don't believe in God, I don't believe in Heaven. I think accidents happen, and people die because the human body is what it is; and it can't survive being torn apart, crushed or aged beyond what you have done to it. You can't fix a lifetime of bad decisions and habits, with all the modern medicine thrown together. You're born, if you're lucky to escape injury or illness, you live, and then you die. That's how it works. Why do healthy people die? I don't know.. I didn't go to medical school.. and I don't want to. People die. It happens, all the time. Sometimes, they're not dead, there was just a blurp in whatever causes time, our bodies, etc.. to work.. and they can reverse it. It happens a lot. People are resuscitated all the time. I've done JUST CPR on people.. and the heart beat returned.. and they began to breathe again.. and they lived many more years. How did it work? I don't know.. It just happened. Do I want to know how it works? No. Because someone will say that God did it.. No.. It's my back that hurts, from doing CPR.. Not God's.. God didn't learn CPR. If we revive someone.. and they leave the hospital. Medicine did it. If they die.. Someone will blame medicine, but I'd be comfortable enough, for you to go ahead and blame God. The term, God, gets too much credit for what medicine can do. I like to think that, unless you're obviously dead... You might appreciate the possibility of being proven wrong, sorry, you weren't completely dead.. Oops. You should have had a DNR pinned to your chest. Maybe a DNR card, attached to a nipple ring? No? It was worth a shot. Then, when we bring them back, and they're a Veggie, we should be able to pull the plug. Yank it right out, and pretend we didn't try to bring you back. I'm being a little sarcastic, but most of it is the result of absolutely no sleep.. and a lot of caffeine.
  8. I'm afraid to say anything... Not directing this at any one individual, just talking as someone who has been met with a lot of friction and road blocks, when talking about improvements and change. Write it because you're a competent, compassionate EMT or Paramedic, and you're good at what you do.. Which is what makes you a professional. Not because you're getting a pay check and they're not. That would be more disrespectful, than the dribble that their captain wrote. You're not a damn good provider because you get paid, you're a damn good provider because you care.. and these people care to do what they can, to help their neighbors. Nothing wrong with suggesting a paid crew. But their citizens need and deserve EMS care until that can take place.. And saying, go paid, isn't an eye opening revelation. With out long term planning, volunteer services that went paid too quickly.. End up out of business, and the citizens with out nearby EMS. With the economical problems they hint of, it may take a while for them to become staffed and compensated. They're doing the same thing that we do, only they're fighting to stay alive, per se. If the local economy isn't able to support volunteers, it's not the time to talk paid staffing. Clearly, as we all know, that takes time and planning, they just need help to stay on top right now.
  9. My "pen name" wrote to the editor: He responded:
  10. Chains on ice.. Okay. So, you'll be upside down w/ the doors ripped off, but your tires will still have chains on them. I dunno who the hell wrote that article, but as a Vol. fire person, I'd have to say that it describes exactly the kind of people that we "black ball". I blame Hollywood.. But, seriously, this author is pissing me off.
  11. That... is utterly horrifying.
  12. take it.. I can sell it on eBay.. A tiny Buddha statue
  13. Take it... I was born on his B-Day. a condom stapled to a card.
  14. Well, when he collapses due to severe septic shock, he'll probably have to call EMS.

I'd rather be paired up with an old fart, than a young pup... Years of experience, often outweigh stacks of paper.

I believe what happens in the chat room, and private messaging; is logged, so it wouldn't matter anyway. Then again, I could be wrong.
  22. leave it.. so gross.. a green bowling pin
  23. Of course it matters if it's true. That's the most asinine bullshit I've ever heard. If it happened, we need to find this guy, and give him a ghetto beating.. Just because. Maybe have him committed to an institution, because it sounds like he's a sandwich short of a picnic.
  24. No way, dump them on my bed, so I could play with my match box trucks inside..
