Are you kidding? I have like two grand in DVD's... What the hell would I do with them? Besides put them in for my friends wives, in mixed company. Boy that makes ppl uncomfortable... But they can't turn away.

  3. Yanno... After reading all this shit. I think I'm cured of being Gay. Yeah, I think I'm straight now. Because all I wanna do is bitch slap flaming.
  4. Bound-Tree bought Alliance Medical. So I'd choose a different supplier for it, because it's like a 3wk delay in processing; then another week for shipping. We use this: (w/o the backboard, that just shows that you can slip one into it securely) http://www.mooremedical.com/index.cfm?PG=CTL&CS=HOM&FN=ProductDetail&PID=13730 Combined with 9' straps on the stretcher. It helps enclose and secure them quite well.
  5. Whats with all the gay vs. straight shit lately? Can't we go back to paid vs. volunteer?
  6. I have a suggestion....
  7. This can go here, just b/c I said so.. So there... I love M*A*S*H, and Harry Morgan was an amazing actor.. http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/9304321-421/harry-morgan-col-potter-on-mash-dies-at-96.html Rest in peace, Col. Potter...
  8. A small plate.
  9. Radio ID Initial Radio ID. I dunno... I see "TURNIP", I don't know where people see Squint?
  10. Well, in the spirit of individualism, isn't it ours to tweak? I tend not to believe that any one character is responsible for all living creatures, events, disasters, the weather, etc., on the face of this Planet that we call Earth. I mean, at one point, you have a being, with a stone. At another point, you have 2c4, on a computer made of plastic, putting thoughts in words, and someone eight thousand miles away knows about it twenty seconds later. How the hell we got from point A to point Z times 99 Billion+, I haven't the foggiest of clues. But I'm pretty sure it involved some tweaking of what humankind was supposed to be doing, in the eyes of, whatever caused humankind to develop. Keep in mind, I'm not feeling very well, kind of like I'm going to puke, or faint from uber severe abdominal cramps...and I may have over thought my response to this one, just a tad. If you're easily offended, to fricken bad, cry a river, build a bridge and go get me some Pepto-Bismol.
  11. I look at being openly gay as a positive thing, in that my mother never asks me when I'm getting married; or when she's going to have grandkids anymore.
  12. Was it an advertisement?
  13. You're hearing a lot of barking! You better go look for a well, because I'm pretty sure "Woof Woof" means Timmy has fallen down one. Just sayin'... bow-wow.
  14. A few years ago we returned from a fire call. One of the guys wasn't acting right, a chatty front of the room guy, very quiet, pale. Collapsed in a seizure and then it was all over. It happened so fast, there was immediate CPR, shocks, color improved. He got everyone's best effort. It looked promising, got a pulse back a few times.. But he died, our first line of duty death.. That affected me more than any call I've ever been on. Bunker gear can be replaced, in fact, most firemen won't be too harsh over getting a new set. But you mess with their lid, that's a death sentence. I remember being in the back, someone trying to ease the stress said; you know what he'd say to us all right now? You dumb shits, you've got three crews, and didn't leave anyone else behind. We did, everyone got on, so there would be fresh, strong hands. The medic truck met us, and obviously some people had to get out and go back. But the last moment we were together as a family per se, the chief said to the patient in a quiet voice, come back to us (name)..and I lost it. I got out and that was that. Now I'm gonna start crying, in fact I already am.
  15. We'd had a lot of problems with that patient. The patient was "needy", not poor needy, clingy-needy. A drama queen, attention whore to fit the description to the t. Several trips, dispatched as emergencies, we'd get half way to the hospital; and the patient would just totally flip-the-f**k-out, and burst into tears. Not crying, dramatically bawling, I can't even describe it. Howling. To go back home. Once we just pulled over and called for police; a couple times we reasoned with the person. Then, we'd get back, maybe an hour would go by and they would dispatch us to go back and get the patient. ER's aren't close by, they aren't around the corner. Dispatch to Available, it's 2.5-3hrs. We don't do returns. The last time we went there, for an emergency call, pulled the same shit. Started howling, crying, that we needed to talk (the patient) into going, because (the patient) couldn't decide. I just called the state police. Offered to transport to the nearest Behavioral Sciences Unit, and the patient declined. I say the patient, etc, instead of him/her/it on purpose.
  16. Set up a turkey fryer on the roof.
  17. Person called 9-1-1.... at 0500 to request transport, by ambulance for a sleep study at a hospital over 150 miles away, because (the person) couldn't sleep. A rural, off the beaten path, hey we have an ambulance on hand, ambulance service. Not a transport service. There was no appointment, the person was winging it, that they'd magically get a special sleep study, by showing up in an ambulance. I told the patient that they'd have to pay the full fee up front, plus half of the mileage before; and the rest upon arrival. Never called back. BTW.. This is my 3000th post.
  18. I'll bitch you out, if you want. That's something I would be more than happy to do. It would be great for my BP.
  19. I hate flying. I thought this was a medical case from literature, not an odd title. I don't even remember the last time I flew, as I took 3 Valium before I got on the first plane; and three more for the second. I would have gotten off the plane and threw one holy hell of a fit till I got what I wanted.
  20. Order out.

    Bottom line

    Cement, fix-a-flat, etc... #1 - Wouldn't that be toxic? #2 - Infection? #3 - STERILIZE THIS *TRANSVESTITE* #4 - AND SHOOT HIM
  23. I'll be the first to tell people that debriefing is mandatory.. But I've never been to one, and I would quit before I had to attend one. Unless it's held in a bar. Alcohol - The social jaws of life.
  24. We've transported a sight-assisting canine in the ambulance; and a beagle from an MVA. Our policy for transporting a service animal, compliant with the protocol - if it won't affect patient care. The shelves in our medical bag compartment snap into place. It's an interior cabinet, with antimicrobial walls, as the rest of the unit has. We remove the shelf, and the contents; and put it either in the front... Or have someone take it back to the station. As not having the bags won't affect what we do, they're just portable extras. The ambulance still has everything it's supposed to, in cabinets. Put a blanket on the floor, put the animal inside; and in both cases, it just laid down and enjoyed the ride. Both times it was secured in the EMS room, attached to the ER. The service dog was reunited with the owner when the patients spouse arrived, as the ER was extremely full, and the patient agreed (the patient) didn't need the dog yet. We don't have animal control, etc., to pick up animals. If they're alive, uninjured; and dogs. Either a fireman will take it home, to the persons home, or to a shelter in another area. If it's injured, we do what we can for it, and take it to a vet. Usually at our expense. We do the same for cats too.. Except we don't transport them in the ambulance. We do have oxygen masks that fit them, though... http://www.wagnpetsafety.com/
  25. Roll the patient toward the paramedic.
