  1. Let the bastard die... The sentence for a true honest to god rape, should be death anyway. The beginning of April, I went three days with an irregular heart beat, and didn't get treatment b/c I got laid off and my insurance was dropped. This bastard rapes a child, and gets a free heart. Burn in hell.
  2. Ah yes, sometimes Hollywood School of Medical Aid does work.
  3. Wow, we always joke about starting training young... But taking such a stringent course, as a toddler? Amazing. How old were you? Four or five? Wow. . . . . .
  4. Now I get why ppl bump themselves off.

  5. GFYS. So are acute personality disorders. So, I guess you are mentally ill.
  6. If I seen one of my people write that on FB. There would be no more assisting. "RIP Old Man"? That's disrespectful, and inappropriate in any setting. However, in a small town, pointing out you helped, and someone died. It's probably going to be real easy to determine who. Although, while it's distasteful, only in my opinion, it's not illegal. HIPAA. However, a violation in certain terms under HIPAA could be construed as identifying any person to a call, with in a specific area. You shouldn't say anything, that can identify a patient within an area smaller than a state as a good policy. Like if you walked into a store, and talked about just having a fatal crash, described the car, and the injuries.. and the patients husband was behind you, freaked out, etc.. He could nail you, I know that's possible, because it happened about fifteen miles from here. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible for me to sue the state police for the same thing. I was in a gas station on Thanksgiving, and a trooper was bragging about an MVA w/ Entrapment that he had to take care of. Told me about the patient, fussy, probably drunk, b/c who could wreck in dry conditions.. Told me what kind of truck, wow, that sounds just like my Mother's pick-up. The roads weren't dry, it was snowing, and the DOT was not on duty which happens often in rural areas........ Reworded**
  7. Now this is important... Do you have an old, nearly dry rotted, rubber hose available to be cut into 3' lengths?

    funny shit

Yeah, it'd be odd to see. Brave person. I suppose it's possible they don't care, like say if they had terminal bladder cancer, prostate cancer, etc.
  9. Oh... She's a terrorist alright.. Suburbanites strapping bombs to their tots! Haven't you ever seen The Burb's? They're out to get us! When we flew to Florida, the two nearest airports didn't even run us through security. Granted they were puddle jumper planes, why would they care if they lost one, eh? It'd be doing them a favor. I would find it very difficult to not make innuendo-soaked comments if someone were doing that to me. It'd probably be more satirical if it were a male TSA Officer. sarcasm
  10. ETOH, Drugs and Mental Illness.
  11. I expected when we turned our dosimeters on in the ambulance, that it would be zero... However, it wasn't, and carrying it around the station, outside, etc; causes it to fluctuate up and down. Contrary to popular belief, the microwave doesn't make it change anymore than a slice of pizza. We were bored. But the base station, PASS Devices and waste water trucks from Gas Frac'ing, do cause it to rise. The latter, causes quite a big rise.
  12. Oh... I get it. Read it wrong, not touching that.
  13. To help people before an ambulance arrives? It all depends on the person, and where they are... But I'd go with the Mini-Medic Bag from DynaMed... or from anyone. A small bag. You'll prolly pay more for the Galls label. I'm sure you could get a cheap one on eBay. Everything I have, is in plastic. Boxes. Easy to clean.
  14. I meant I wouldn't use it on a patient. I, however, would rather treat myself, than go to an ER for extremely minor injuries.
  15. Roast beef comes in a can? I guess I'm just too small town. Store is a 'if we don't have it, you don't need it' type deal. But anyhoo.. Fresh venison sausage (some butcher shops sell it); then mix amounts to taste brown sugar, ketchup and mustard in a sauce pan. Quick, easy, pretty good. It's like a simple BBQ sauce I'd say about a cup of BS, and half cup of ketchup, few squirts of mustard. Toasted large slices of Italian bread for the 'roll'. That's sort of a New England hot-dog roll, square edged rolls, toasted on both sides. Grill or boil the sausages till done. Consume.
  16. I've purchased it online, and used it on myself, friends, etc.. I have like a field surgical kit type deal, solely for personal use. I avoid seeking higher care at all costs. It burns. Badly. Apply ice, and it comes apart, so in a rural setting if you're lacking a doctor... Go to the Vet, they can usually do a good job. Never had a problem, yet. Antibiotics? Call up and ask for oral liquids for a cat, usually get that bubblegum flavored pink stuff. Totally serious. Being a technical rescuer, wilderness rescue, I would never seal a wound. There is nothing sterile in the middle of the woods, I carry stuff to irrigate; and benzoin tincture, steri-strips, etc.. That Band-Aid stuff in the tube, with the foam applicator does just as good of job. But I'd never seal a patients laceration. Irrigate it well, perhaps mixing betadine w/ water, dress it, and wrap it w/ coban. Never seal it, any more than you have to, if it's big... Slap a QuikClot on it and hope for the best. I can say, that dermabond, when allowed to dry and not move the area, does heal quite well. I was hanging a light fixture in the EMS supply room, sat the drill down, and my hand ever so gently rubbed the bit. Nice, kinda deep, 1.5" lac from my back of my thumb, across the side of my wrist. There's a vein there. Bloody fricken mess, but you can only tell where the lac was, b/c my wrist, yanno, bends. Just like a 1/4" spot where there is an obvious scar. As nice as that is to have on the spot, and not take 4 hours to go to the ER... However. I don't think that it has a place in EMS. We're not even allowed to carry first aid cream. At least if it gets sealed up, then turns into an abscess, they won't be suing EMS. We don't get a lot of BS calls in the minor injury department, ppl out here tend to be able to take care of themselves a little better. First Aid Kit rant... Honestly, have any of you bought a first aid kit recently? We have one in the kitchen, from Target. It looked neat, that's the only reason, it looks cool in our 1940's looking kitchen. There's nothing in it to treat anything larger than a paper-cut, or a hangover. Maybe a broken finger. Sorry to go off topic, Oxycontin on board, I have 45min CPR cramps.
  17. Reason to steal industrial fire hose: Brass couplings. The nozzles are either plastic, adjustable; or smooth brass. Still make them.. They're made to leak, lose pressure, and just be a device to help you exit, not stay and fight the fire.
  18. I don't consider myself biased, since I won't sell an AED to ppl w/ corporate doctors, prescriptions, etc... Just EMS Services. I will, however, sell them disposable oxygen units (yes, they make real, disposable, oxygen tanks) and excessively over priced reusable resuscitators. $7.99 average, before mark up to like 11.99 for a bvm, generic. But most non-ems folks, that may use it once every 10 years, if ever.. Actually want a silicone, reusable device, for $230... Which is perfectly fine w/ me, btw.
  19. I'd say, if it's a high rise, they should have an office-size medical kit and AED on every floor. You have to account for the time it takes 9-1-1 to be called, the time it takes for the call to be taken, transferred and dispatched; and the time it will take EMS to arrive (traffic, weather, call volume). Then the size of the building, is it transferring elevators to reach upper floors, or one straight shot? I'd say every floor, or one every couple floor.s They're fairly inexpensive these days. An office size medical kit, including oxygen. Many AED companies sell cabinets with said items right in the same spot. People die everyday, from sudden cardiac arrest. Can't predict when or where they will happen. All you can do is be prepared. "Office Responders" are a good place to start.
  20. Wrong type of radiation.
  21. has a hangover from f#@king hell.

  22. Wait. Him? He? His? I swear there was a there. No? Hrmm... I'm recovering from a spur of the moment drinking binge that started after a confrontation at 11am. I always wondered why anyone would go into a bar, before noon. Now I know why. Nobody can leave. Nobody, of use, anyway. I love you guys, in a totally non-clingy, non-gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) way. You're like Hustler with out the porn, entertaining and educational.
  23. That sounds like a Native-American name... Rosie Red-Ass.
  24. The only book, completely focused on EMS, that I've ever read...was my EMT Text Book.
  25. That's great! Too bad it doesn't make headlines when EMS does the same thing, every day.
