Angel Salvador weighed only only 500g (17.6oz) when he was born four months prematurely last week. The boy was declared dead by medical staff but discovered to be alive by his father when he was taken home for a funeral wake. But medical staff said he had now died as his vital organs were not strong enough to survive. The child was born at a hospital in the capital Asuncion. Father Jose Alvarenga heard his son crying from the box in which he had been placed after he had first been declared dead. The head of paediatric care said a doctor had not properly checked the infant's vital signs. His death was confirmed on Monday.

The EMT part of me says.. It's a store, think of the things that could injure him, not to mention what's on the floor, and who was on the floor. Eww. I think they definitely knew what the Atom bomb was capable of they tested them enough. I think they knew what it would do to the people, and how long it would last. That's why they used them, and it saved untold hundreds of thousands of lives too. That I wouldn't debate. Going by my studies, as I researched WWII extensively for a book I wrote in 2005 about the 329th Infantry. This was a mission of last resort, in my opinion, and I think afterward, the people knew that. The country was running out of money. There were attacks on the main land US, torpedo and incendiary bombs. It was only a matter of time till our sea ports and ocean going vessels wouldn't have been safe. Who knows how long WWII would have gone on in the Pacific. Probably till every last Japanese soldier was dead, and most of ours too. I'm not a bleeding heart, but I don't think that nations walloping each other with nuclear devices - NOW, would do anything but lead to the extinction of man kind. Albert Einstein - I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I don't think people realize what these weapons will do, when they're parading around suggesting we drop them on countries. In most cases, it's the governments. Like the US, it's the political figures, not the citizens. This will kill, and severely deform so quickly.. and it's not atomic now. The effects will last decades, into new generations; the biological and chemical effect will out grow just the epicenter, it could spread across thousands of miles. While tests have been done, nothing has ever been dropped on significant material. Buildings, people, industry, electric grid, water supplies. Nobody can gauge the damage, loss of or affect on life, and years of problems afterward. While it may be survivable, I don't know that I would want to live in a world with only fear and death?

One thing that our protocol doesn't cover, and often OMC isn't too worried about is a patient who lives alone, has nobody to check on them, and have a extremely difficult time ambulating, or can't ambulate at all. When they have no means on hand, like say a handicapped person would have; but just have a sudden illness or injury, and can't get around. I am not easy on letting them go, I mean I won't force them to go. But I say, if there were a fire, and you can't move around, you won't be able to get out. Now, if they're A&O, answering appropriately, not altered at all, it wouldn't be negligent, that's their right. But it would certainly weigh heavily on my conscience.
