  2. No if you read the July 2006 ems contract, they lowered the starting salary.
  3. Wow how embarrassing this is....plus with the new contract they lowered the starting salary to 27,200!! Welfare anyone? Glad to see the first responders are treated with class.
  4. Well I was curious about Uniform pay, Night Diff, Overtime, Hazmat and any other items that may help that low salary actually become livable.
  5. Can someone fill me in on the starting salary. I know it's around 28K (Welfare money) But is this the bottom line when you get out of the academy or can I actually make a living?
  6. Great thanks for the information. I have my Physical on the 25th @ 8am.
  7. How is the EMS physical and how longer after would you expect to be called for an academy class? AD REMOVED - ADMIN
  8. This is true...once people are in front of their screens at home..opinions will fly but for the most part I know that once on the street everyone watches eachothers backs....because If you dont act like a brotherhood you should really hang it up. AD REMOVED - ADMIN
  9. I'm looking for a school that gives the Tac Medic course close to my home (New York). I'm willing to travel a bit but would like to keep it to the vehicle only, LoL If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Thats why I'm new here...I found it thanks!
  11. Opinions? Facts? Anyone... Worth the money and extra training? Give me you views and if you have takin the class was it worth it.
  12. Actually there are two Combination Houses that I know of...One in Brooklyn and the other in Staten Island.
  13. Acutally your right and I just confirmed it. I called FDNY and the lady stated I just registered in September and the waiting period is 6-8 months...thanks again fellas!
  14. Thanks for the reply..to answer your question I just called them when I got my license and gave them all my information like it says to on the fdny site.
  15. I am new to this board and was reading some posts about how some EMT-B's have called FDNY right after they finished there course and are in the class already?? I called the City back in August and am still waiting for my call...any info on this??
