If a tree falls in the forest and an internet cam does not record it, Did it actually fall?

At least the only mud slinging would be if the game is rained and they are playing outdoors.

Ok hisory has proven that a win or loss by the Washington Redskin football team is an accurate projection of the new president. So to save tax payer money there should be no more presidential elections. It will also free up precious TV time that gets interupted. We just let the Washington Redskins play and you root for or against to see if your party gets into office. See much better. It was proven accurate again yesterday, so it is 18 straight correct presidential calls. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3672799 "The Redskins, in fact, are an accurate barometer for presidential elections. According to Steve Hirdt of the Elias Sports Bureau, who coined the term "Redskins Rule" in 2000, the following bromide has held true for the past 17 presidential elections: If the Redskins win their last home game prior to Election Day, the party that won the popular vote in the previous election wins the White House; if the Redskins lose, the party that lost the popular vote in the previous election wins." http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3679597 The Redskins Once Again Control the Presidential Election by Chris Sprow The crack ESPN research department was good enough to point out this morning that while politics and corruption (and not in that order, now and forever, amen) tend to get the headlines in Washington, the Redskins rule the place. They also pretty much choose the president. As they dutifully note: "(The) Redskins host the Steelers on Monday Night Football—which also happens to be Election Day Eve. There have been five previous Presidential Elections during the Redskins existence during which the incumbent was not running for re-election. And as you may have guessed by now, the Redskins will provide us with an answer as to who our next President will be. In years the incumbent is not on the ticket and the Redskins lose their last home game before Election Day, the White House changed parties. When the Redskins win? Well, that's happened only once—in 1988—but the presidency was passed from Ronald Reagan to his Vice President, George Bush. Simply put, Barack Obama supporters should be pulling for the Steelers on Monday, while John McCain fans would be smart to root for the Redskins." So there you have it. Not only is Jim Zorn the best paid person in Washington—if you don't count illegal lobbyist and slush fund contributions to our esteemed members of the house and senate—but the man holds the fate of a nation in his play-calling hands. Give or take. We'll see how this all sorts out on Wednesday, at which time Tim Pawlenty and Hillary Clinton begin campaigning against Obama or McCain for 2012! Until then, enjoy Keith Olbermann's massive head screaming at your face.

Umm As an EMT-I we carry and use paralytics. Really not the best example. But other than the lousy pay, St Johns sounds like a good place to work. As an EMT-I I make much more than that, paid all hours and great benefits, so not moving there any time soon.

Ruffems did a contest similiar to your project. Maybe those that did it could help.

Sorry to hear, but thanks for making the point I was trying to make. We do not know what is really involved based on the limited info in the report, therefore should not judge. I hope your wife finds the right treatment and gets relief. -
FD Launches In-House Paramedic Education Program
spenac replied to VentMedic's topic in Education and Training
I spent many years as a basic and as an intermediate. Now as I get more education I realize just how sick some patients that I called BS on really were. Now I am not saying that some calls are not just BS, in fact if you have read all my posts then you will know that I am a strong advocate of Paramedics being able to say no to patients that after an exam are found not to have an emergency that requires an ambulance. I am a strong advocate of doing away with all you call we haul systems. Having a properly educated Paramedic perform an evaluation, then if it is determined they can safely be transported to a doctor by other means then deny them. But to determine BS just by how it is dispatched is really pure ignorance. Sorry that I could not be nicer but that is ..................................................................... -

You guys are acting like a lot of biased spoiled whiney babies. Give the lady the benefit of the doubt. Were any of you there? Did any of you actually feel what she endured? Do you judge everyone w/o all the facts? -
Beware of “Negligent Completion” of the PCR
spenac replied to NYC-EMS's topic in General EMS Discussion
LOL. Yeah they read the reports we leave. The easter bunny, santa clause, the giant pumpkin, the tooth fairy, the......... are all real too. Pretty much the only way we influence the ER docs actions is if we go seek him/her out and emphasis what we saw that concerns us. Even then they usually blow us off as we are uneducated taxi drivers. -
Woman sues Salem after tripping over EMT bag
spenac replied to NYC-EMS's topic in General EMS Discussion
Have you guys gone nuts? Perhaps she was genuinely injured. Maybe the bag was placed just behind her. Then the partner says move and gives a gentle shove or "accidentally" bumps her. She falls, breaks wrist, has multiple surgerys, loses wages, etc. She really does not want to sue but with the medical bills piling up she finally files for actual medical bills so she can avoid bankruptcy. The more I type the more I think she should have gone for millions. Come on guys we can not make up our minds knowing so little facts. $100,000 is not really a whole lot to ask if she lost work time, had surgerys etc. I spent 4 nights in the hospital and it was over $24000 and they did nothing for me. If she actually needed any real care or even physical therapy medical expenses over 3 years pile up quick. Just saying don't be so one sided. Play nice now. -
Well if she stands up for you, I gotta question just how smart a cookie she is. Just kidding. Glad you have gotten someone that has learned that you are worth standing up for. Now it's just a matter of time till more give you a real chance. Welcome cynical_as_hell, thanks for watching after our friend.

Looking for advice on choosing a medic program.
spenac replied to ChevyEMS's topic in Education and Training
Or you could go here: Spenac Paramedic Academy Fast Track Paramedic Our mission is to provide a fast skill based program void of the medical education that you will not be able to use. We focus on what to do, not why you do it. We do not waste time educating you on things your employer will not allow you to use. We do not waste time on the past, we do not focus on the future as we are confident that EMS has advanced as far as it can. We are confident our training will enable you to handle your job long enough to move to the profession you want. We give you the minimum required so you can get done quicker and start making money. How? Just one example:We teach you how to place the 12 lead not how to interpret, let the machine tell you whats wrong, then read your protocol book or call the doctor to find out how to treat. In less than 2 weeks you to can be a paragod. -

Getting used to the Rural Setting
spenac replied to redhead_emt2luv_angel's topic in General EMS Discussion
Good attempt. I will give you that a good medic will do much in a short time. We in the rurals also do much in those first 2-3 minutes, but then we have time to see if what we did works or not. We have to go deeper into the drug bag. We have to pay attn for the hour or more for the smallest of changes in patients S/S so we can stay ahead. If we ever get behind that hour or more is an extremely long ride. As to helicopter crutch by rural medics, even if I call a helicopter I still have the patient over 45 minutes, so not really much of a crutch. Up to just this July helicopter was 1.5 hours out. In my rural world we also have very limited ability to communicate with the hospital so we have to make almost all choices of care with nothing really to guide us beyond our education. -

FD Launches In-House Paramedic Education Program
spenac replied to VentMedic's topic in Education and Training
LOL Good joke there buddy. I have had more calls that come in requesting us to just check them because they feel a little bad that turned out to be be ALS calls than I can count. In fact almost any caller that calls claiming to be dieing ends up the least sick of all. Descriptions given to dispatcher questions are very misleading and any provider that decides BS w/o even seeing the patient has already ensured the patient will get poor care by the responding crews. Once you get negative you can't just switch to positive so patients do not get your best. -
If a person needs immediate help they can deal with a little embarrasment if they live. Sorry if I'm doing cpr the chest is exposed.

FD Launches In-House Paramedic Education Program
spenac replied to VentMedic's topic in Education and Training
Sorry Vent I can not help you win this arguement of the foolishness of having two so very different professions combined as I am playing nice still. Have a great day. -
Sounds like you guys need to organize. Not unionize, but organize. There have been services in my area getting ripped off and they got the media involved. Informed everyone that would listen that because of low pay they were about to not have enough people to operate ambulances. Real quick public outcry led to huge pay raises. There never was a walkout, etc. Just word that there would possibly be no ambulance got all the blue hairs stirred up and politicians got busy and money that they claimed did not exist was magically found. Do not make threats, just present the fact that with cost of living, etc that many are being forced to look for new professions. Now if you are stuck in diploma mill capital with a million homeless unemployed EMT's I am not sure of it working.
