  1. See darn dispatchers get everything wrong. Welcome back. Sincerely, Spenac official dispatch basher of emtcity.
  2. Why the new identity? Why not just use your old one? :?:
  3. Oh crap the dispatcher is back. Is this your new secret identity?
  4. The problem I have with you is you put your personal preferences above that of your patients by your statements. It is hard to consider someone a professional that maintains such an attitude. As to not difficult you must not work where you are required to use any real medical education. We are not trying to pick on you. We are trying to get you to understand that the feelings of our patients are what we should focus on.
  5. This is why I have a living will stating exactly what measures I will accept to save my life. If I will have no quality I want the machines stopped. If God wanted me to live on a machine I would have been born with them. So my choice is let me go. I made my decision when fully competent. If you have wishes you better fill out proper forms so you don't get stuck on a machine costing your family everything that they have.
  6. Actually had I gotten my paramedic as soon as I completed my EMT-B there would have been a number of people that could have survived that died because I was highest level of care. Yes in the ambulance or on scene I did all I could legally do but sadly it was not enough. Examples are seeing heart rhythms that as a paramedic are treatable but as a basic you sit and wait for the inevitable. There are a lot of familys that were robbed of loved ones because I chose to wait and my service was to cheap to get paramedics. All my years of experience have done nothing but teach me bad habits that have hampered my paramedic education.
  7. There is no reason to wait. With more education comes more confidence. You can practice your basic skills while taking paramedic or even after you get paramedic. Trust me you will do your patients more good as a paramedic than you you ever could as a basic. I regret I waited so long to go for paramedic. Now I live with the fact some died that would be alive had I had my paramedic. Don't let that happen to you.
  8. :glasses5: :glasses4:
  9. He also knows we are the most paranoid group of people as well.
  10. There are many additives that will allow fuel to be stored for an extended period of time.
  11. OP has had since Aug 2 to respond but none. So no response leads to much speculation. Looks like despite everyones initial attempts to be helpful OP does not choose to respond.
  12. I propose OP is a person looking to sue someone and trolling for how to word things to make lawsuit sound better. Actually if patient just coded as described and only one person in back compressions only would be expected at that point. I will give no further aid to the *REMOVED -ADMIN* until proves otherwise.
  13. I don't know. Post was to nice perhaps some one stole his ID.
  14. Selfish people always thinking of themselves first. Be a darn professional or get out of my profession. Cover up the tats, remove piercings. Race is whole other issue that should never have been brought into this discussion.
  15. Companys already do have no exposed tats rules that have stood up thus far. If a person already has them they can cover them if they want a job with companys with those rules. They are not denied employment as long as they cover up. If tats are where they can't be covered then person has removal option and makeup so they can qualify. So there is no discrimination. That is why a person needs to really think clearly about all choices in life, as those choices can have profound affects on their future. It is not about our rights, it is about our patients rights.
  16. Have you read my book?
  17. LOL. Happens to most everyone once in a while. Welcome to the city.
  18. So they only "like" not live or love in other citys n stuff? While not the grammar police I still have to say what? :?
  19. Your opinion does not matter only our customers, paying or not, have opinions that matter. And there are still enough customers that find tats offensive that it should move any real professional to either not get a tat or to cover them when at work. As to insurance it is still paid for by our customers. If government benefits they to are paid by our customers taxes. Our freedom of expression ends when it has any chance of affecting patient outcome. A patient nervous about the tat covered thug trying to touch them may not respond to treatment or even make themselves worse. Does not matter how good you are in a short transport they will not have time to get past tat phobia.
  20. Hows that for an almost controversial post? Question should his partner have stayed with him or continued to original call? http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_10320683 [web:21b1ec290e]http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_10320683[/web:21b1ec290e]
  21. It is not about us, it is about our patients. Many patients are not comfortable being around people with tats. Get over it. If you want them do them where they are not visible while on duty. Put others above yourselves and you'll be better people.
  22. My pen doesn't have a light on it.
  23. Welcome mmkay Spenacky we look forward to your posts.
  24. It is funny how strongly fire is fighting this advancement. Honestly it is easier to get than all are claiming. Some private schools are now working with colleges that do not have EMS programs to join forces. Yes there will be changes to structure but having access to the colleges/universitys resources will fulfill many of the requirements. Yes some of the lesser quality schools will disappear completely because no one will allow them to join forces. Other quality private schools understand that with the coming changes they will be able to charge more for the quality education so they just see this as an investment for future profits. Sadly though this will get challenged and get changed. EMS will not improve it will stay the same or even get worse. The few that want improvement will lose to the Fire services that want cheap and quick so they can gather more money from communitys for new fire trucks. EMS will continue to be the unwanted step child that barely meets the minimum.
  25. I do not believe EMS and fire should be together. They are two totally different monsters. To be the best at either you need to focus on one. If required to be both one or both will suffer. I was a FF before I became a Medical Professional. I now am only a Medical Professional. As to getting a taste before wasting money EMS needs to develope like many hospitals a way for people to go with us to get a taste of what we do so they can invest their money wisely. No other healthcare profession asks its people to stop at any point and try it before continuing. Actually this is why EMS should be a degree program so when a person finishes and decides nope don't want EMS they can easily use those university hours to go into another profession.
