  1. West Texas Interstates 10 and 20 are 80 MPH.
  2. And as I have found several times blanket statements are almost always wrong. I to have known several ER nurses just needed the break from the ER grind and moved to floor or surgery. Still great nurses, just new location. Now if they move to nursing home....................... (cheap shot at itku2er)
  3. WOW. Speed of the dart. Thats deep man.
  4. What happens is do gooders stop controlled burns and land clean up. Throw that in with so many wanting to live in nature you have disaster. Another problem is lightening fires used to burn away dead trees, grass, etc but now people immediately stop fires. This leads to tons of debris to burn when it does get out of hand. Where I'm at we have large fires but most times it only burns grass and trees. Had a 98000 acre fire. Then had a 50000 acre fire I helped with this year. But here most home owners and ranchers fix the land around the house to allow it to be defensible.
  5. A search will reveal several discussions about this subject. A couple quick points is first you must become a paramedic then take the course. As to what you do is dependant on the area but most time just same as other paramedics.
  6. I think it is rude as well as disgusting. Ummm think about where you are touching and then you are in contact with your phone. Besides if I am on the other side of the conversation and hear a loud fart followed by plop plop I will never answer if you call again.
  7. So I guess I am the only one that thinks there would be a chance that by warning on coming traffic of a speed trap that you could cost someone their life. That you could be aiding a kidnapper escape capture. Wow.
  8. Congrats chbare excellent school plan. Thanks for the hard work.

  13. Interstate speed limit here is 80 mph. And people still warn you. I just think you could be helping the wrong person and cost someone their life.
  14. But to demand better pay demands us to get better education. Or does pay need to go up first for motivation for us to get better educated?
  15. The important thing to remember is while they respond quickly they will also drop quickly again. So work with your protocol but remember they need something to help them maintain proper levels. We do generally administer complete dose. As to thiamine primarily given to those with known or suspected alcohol abuse. We have other times thiamine may be used as well.
  16. Do you warn other motorist that cops are around? Dangerous? Could you be harming others? OK I know here goes spenac on another rant, not again. Well I have a pet peeve. I hate that people use various ways to warn other motorist that cops are ahead on the road. Why? Because if someone is breaking the law they need to live with their choices. Worse though what if someone has kidnapped someone and is speeding down the road. You flash your lights or use hand gesture, whatever is common in your area to warn that cops are ahead. Kidnapper slows down, drives right past cop. Horrible things happen to person that was kidnapped. Family never hears from victim again. Lots of suffering because you decided hey that cop doesn't have the right to enforce the law. Has this happened? Probably but we also probably will never know. What do you think?
  17. Perhaps someone downloaded this and faxed it. But wait it was created after I was a member. Hummmm.
  18. Why would anyone want to live in Cali? I am just waiting for the day it falls into the pacific to cash in on my land that will then be ocean front property.
  19. Well when I was thinking of making a place to interact with other professionals on the web I accidentally created this crap.  OK for reals I received a spam fax advertising emtcity. Checked it out and decided to stay and cause trouble.  It has also proved helpful in my paramedic studies. Anyway one of those is the real story.
  20. Who are you and just why would we notice you were missing? j/k I am sorry your son is sick. As a parent I know that it is hard to watch them lay in a hospital bed. I hope a speedy and complete recovery. Please update us when you can.
