There was something about using video feed to the ER doc at some point. Can't remember which EMS mag had it. That would still be video, might provide protection. I actually think a service could record all calls there would have to be very strict control of recordings but I am not a lawyer. Any EMS lawyers on here please let us know. Now if guy is truly guilty hope they string him up and let the kids beat him. :twisted: I also agree we need more facts. There are way to many times that we must touch people or strip people. Perhaps she mistook a necessary touch as wrong. Perhaps she already knew the paramedic and was mad at him. Lets get more facts as they come out. This brings to mind the EL Paso Fire paramedic that thought the patient was out cold and sucked on her breasts. She informed the hospital. DNA done. Busted. Never heard what his punishment was. He should have been used as a pinata also. In my old service I wish we would have had video as we had so many OB calls.

No clue what I did wrong. Just pissed somebody off I guess. Hopefully they were just having a bad day and read something into my post that wasn't there. No one actually asked for apology but when you are accused of wrong doing and if you did something wrong the polite thing is to apologize, in this case no wrong no apology.

I did not cheap shot the new person. I told them how to find what they were looking for. Obviously google worked. I never called them a whacker. Those type of shirts have always been termed whacker or worse shirts since I entered EMS. As far as coward that I am not. A bully I am not. Many on here new and old alike PM me with matters because they know I will give an honest answer. I have argued with the best and worst here at the city. I do not attack new people when they do anything besides 3 post for chat. Perhaps my answers are not what they want but it might be what they need. I tend to give blunt answers and occasionally try and bring some humor with it to lighten the mood. As to the worthless nope don't have it usually only use on old unanswered posts to bring them back up. Look back many times then people start answering OP. People confront me here constantly old and new and I appreciate it. It forces me to look at what I do and say so I improve. The attacks on me here had no value they were BS. I helped the person with a direct simple answer. If you don't like my comments ignore them. I ignore several peoples comments. The reason people respect me is I can and have argued many a point with facts. I am also honest about things. I do not pretend to be somebody I am not. I will ignore the rest of your insults in the above and other posts. Next time you have a problem, as an experienced EMS Professional I suggest PM's. You will find often there is a misunderstanding and things get taken better than when someone attacks a person in public. Have a nice night.

Dang it. What the hell did I do? I told the poster how to find what they were looking for yet now I am an established member picking on the poor innocent new guy. It will be hard to apologize with them in gitmo. You mentioned the what if of painting real guns to appear fake. Well sadly many do not know that toys have red/orange on them and seeing that number of guns real or not would panic. Many have no clue what is an automatic firearm or not. Personally I live in an area where almost everyone has guns. Most have many guns of all types. So now because they have multiple guns should I report them, I hope not because then I have to report myself even though all are legally owned. I have on many occasions gone on welfare checks where the patient or family members have wanted to show me their new guns. Just because we are not comfortable there is no reason to get somebody investigated. If it costs them their job while held pending investigation your apology aint going to mean jack. We are not trained to be spys and should not be spys. If someone is up to no good and calls for EMS they are 1 going to hide all bad guy toys or 2 take and kill us and use our uniforms and ambulance to commit bad guy attack.

First medic_girl_chas deserves a little extra slack, trust me she's going through a lot. Just give her a little time she'll get it right again. Second you've got to be kidding me that anyone would be so stupid as to think it is a good idea to use kids to fill spots. I'm all for some kind of ride along where they are third team member. But your right people do not care about our profession.

Surely I miss understand. There can not be any idiots out there planning on using kids to fill shortages. Up your pay grade, that will attract people to work. Crap surly I miss read that some idiot plans on this route for coverage. Please someone tell me I have misread that someone would be idiotic enough to start a program for kids to staff their ambulances. I am in complete shock. Does no one care about this profession?

It's to easy to mistake everyday items as potential weapons. Come to my house I have wire, electronics, fertilizer, swimming pool chemicals, etc, etc, etc that could easily be used to make something if a person were to look hard enough online. These items are used in my garden, my pool, my house etc but if ever invaded by the police they could easily claim it was for bad purposes. Bring in an untrained EMT spy and he sees these normal items, calls authorities and I get locked up for nothing. But because the cops don't want to look bad it will be described as an almost ready to deploy weapon. I'm labeled an enemy combatant. So off I go to the island of no return to be tortured w/o any hope of release. Bad idea to have us become spys.

Might try google or ebay. Don't have any whacker tees myself, so don't know where to get them.

If you got along with no one maybe you need to see if you are the problem. Not trying to sound rude but it's really hard to believe all of them are out to get you.

Vent, I see where you are coming from. But the routine patient that is a healthy release not needing medical care should be transported by family. There is no way of saying for sure I can complete this reply w/o coding. There is no way to say anybody is going to live. I am tired of comments such as "preventative measure" that others have used. Now to your other point about the EMT's / paramedics that just don't pay attention. These idiots need to leave EMS/taxi driving/etc and should loose their certs. If you choose to work for a Taxi/ambulance you need to do so in a professional manner. You need to pay attention to the person even if nothings wrong with them because that is what you are payed to do. If you feel it is a waste of your time doing transfers home then quit. Even in 911 only services most transports are still taxi rides, but I assure you my patient gets great care. So my position is still if not an emergency you do not need an ambulance, but if you do the job do it well.

While I seem to always disagree with your posts, I agree with you here. I am not selling something, I am there to provide emergency care regardless of persons ability to pay. Saying they are customers implies to me they are required to pay to get treatment. If I required upfront money then I would really be a taxi driver.
