  1. :sign5:
  2. Well I would hope that safety would be something we can all try to get behind. I have been injured when flung around in the box. I have informed my wife that odds are if I crash they will just bring her some ashs from the seen and tell might be him. The reason no progress has been made here is we are not organized in anyway, but that is discussed on other threads. We do need to start demanding safer ambulances.
  3. Both are scams allowing companys to avoid cleaning up their act. I don't know about global warming but, I see, smell, and sadly taste the pollution in the air. Make companys clean up their act at least it will be better for our health.
  4. You threatening us. I got 15000 people going open a can of wup butt on you.
  5. Misdemeanor excellent post. We are way behind, even consider the back door lift that the UK uses that helps stop on job injuries. I do agree we need to slow down even on serious patients. At high rates of speed you cannot work in the back thus doing more harm than good to everyone. Lets run with this.
  6. Must be nice. I have people die in my ambulance but we are not expected to do CPR 90 miles to the hospital either. Of course you can lie to them and yourself but if your doing CPR they are almost always already dead. I hate that lame statement "nobody dies on my ambulance".
  7. Why are you picking on OP, sounds like they need encouragement, you big meanie.
  8. Thats right you better so I don't change your name to MR FELON.
  9. While I feel strongly that all volunteer services should go paid, I also feel that those that choose to stay should insist that the service be run in a professional manner. You must set an example by acting in a professional manner even when posting on a forum. Find your services by-laws and read them. Work with-in those rules to force a more professional attitude. Then work to convert over to a true professional paid department.
  10. I've told several that they would not survive their injuries or illness. It is hard but I would not want to be lied to so I do not lie to my patients. Actually had one that the doctor sent home but apparently in translation patient and family did not understand it was to go home to die. Saw what meds was on and read discharge info. Explained to patient and family that there was nothing could be done beyond comfort measures. Put them in touch with hospice and called patients doctor and chewed him out for not getting a real translator apparently had used small child that did not fully grasp info.
  11. I'd like 2 murder credits please, along with a bank heist credit. Thanks
  12. Yes thank you. Really though every scientific study you read or hear about seems to be slanted towards that persons previously known opinion. I do personally feel our wasteful polluting ways of life are causing damage to earth.
  13. Could change ambulance to bio-diesel.
  14. Ours is more like 10% of our transports include more than 1 patient. Mostly it's medical. we go from house to house picking them up. It's funny to see the old guys expression while your delivering a baby.
  15. Wow here we go again. Global warming may be part of earths natural cycle or it could be caused by cow farts mixed with all us human polluters. Time will tell.
  16. No that was a different news story from back in the old days.
  17. Darn you Ruff get back on track. Well back on topic. I need an ambulance that can carry at least 3 supine back boarded patients, I have had 4 back boarded in my ambulance. I have had 6 medical patients at one time as well. Those little toy ambulances that barely fit 1 patient with a small EMt and no supplys will not work in rural EMS.

  20. Yea thats some of that there news footage I be talkin bout.
  21. Hey wait we need people on standby to go stop the next large object about to destroy earth, so they don't have to go pull people off drilling rigs to save us like last time, that wasted time could have killed us all. Don't you remember when we all were waiting to die and I remember the news footage showing the one guy holding his girl singing I'm leaving on a jet plane. It was really cool how we were able to watch actual footage of the object being destroyed. I am so relieved their are people out there ready to go.
  22. Actually chief complaint is what they tell you, no matter how stupid it sounds. Then in your findings you use the big medical words. Chief complaint could be written as patient states "a..hole is on fire from hot food", "tummy aches", "my man tool has been swollen all night", those are the chief complaint, the reason they called you.
  23. I think a 100 page report on all forms of shock and how it affects all organs all the way to the cellular level should be a part of every school. Then it should be required to pass a test and also do another shock research paper every two years on the job. Why you ask? Because in EMS shock is where we can do the most good or harm to our patients. As far as motivating somebody, not much you can do besides talking about various new things you have learned in hopes it motivates them. That is unless you write the checks then you can cram it down their throats.
  24. It doesn't matter what color the author was he was quoting the patient. An accurate PCR should contain direct pertinent quotes, such as this that could help show patients state of mind. If he quoted minus the n..ga it would have been inaccurate. I have written many a PCR with profanity and even profanity in spanish so it was accurate.
