Yes it is normal. The best thing going is you have not developed the bad habits so many that work as basics before becoming Paramedics develop. To many people waste a year or more at basic level only to get out in the field and have to have all the bad habits broken or become a horrible Paramedic. Best advice is always act calm in from of your patients. Keep studying during down time. You will be fine.

As I said I am sure there are a few. I just do not see it being a trend. Even in the ambulance you have people say I bet this is going to cost me a bunch but they still for the most part say lets go.

Post that please. If it were true you would see people hiding from the ambulance as well. I am sure might have a few cases but not the majority.

With current NR just pay the fee to the state. No special DL. As far as good pay like everywhere you have areas that pay good and more that don't. If not already a Paramedic harder to find a good paying job.

Sounds like the lawyers, like debt collectors, offer a deal that is cheaper than what it will cost to fight knowing most will just pay rather than stand up for what is right. I know some people that believe standing up when they are in the right is more important than losing money to prove it. For instance the IRS told a tax payer that they made a mistake and still owed less than a dollar more than they had paid. The tax payer fought that and eventually won but no telling how much was spent in postage etc in proving the IRS wrong. Why the fight? Because tax payer knew they were right and reasoned if everyone just automatically gave in IRS would get away with it from now on.

Hope they are eligible for overtime covering all those extra shifts. Wonder what the truth is fired or quit?

I hate hearing this. Never a good time to be sued but at this point it is the worst for me as I have nothing available to contribute to the fight. To avoid such frivolous lawsuits in the future you might need to add a few more mods so every time a whole story is posted one of them is available to go in and edit it down to just a few excerpts. Whats bad about that though is some news reports are not archived so the link to the report quickly becomes useless.

On the list of already accredited there are schools I would not hire students from. So accredited does not equal quality. Being new might be hard to get hired to do 911 initially. They only run Paramedic trucks. They do hire basics for dispatch and if hired as dispatch you have to wait a year before moving over to Paramedic if I recall correctly.
