  5. Come on now you know you'ld dispatch for free.
  6. Zilla, if thoses funds were made available to local communities they would be able to improve the care needed everyday, and thus also be better equiped for the disasters. Make a stipulation that any equipment and personnel paid for with those funds be available to go to disaster areas. You could still even have regional play, oops training days.

  10. Actually they have a ten week and a 15 week program. I give you a qoute from TEEX website: "We have two Fast Track Paramedic formats that meet for a total of 624 hours. The first Fast Track Paramedic format meets eight hours a day three days a week (Monday / Wednesday / Friday) for ten weeks and consists of 624 total hours. The total hours are divided into 240 didactic / lecture, 192 hospital clinical, and 192 ambulance internship. The second Fast Track Paramedic format meets eight hours a day two days a week (Tuesday / Thursday) for fifteen weeks and consists of 624 total hours. The total hours are divided into 240 didactic / lecture, 192 hospital clinical, and 192 ambulance internship."

  15. Sorry to pick but how many major chemical attacks have we had? As far as any other incident if we had the people and equipment we could take care of it while waiting for federal dmat to get here. Again I commend your enthusiasm but I still feel funds would be better served helping those that need help everyday rather than sitting in storage for the what if.
  16. Our ambulance is registered as BLS/MICU capable. In other words whatever warm body those in charge find our ambulance can roll. Sometimes only minor first aid other times open heart surgery .

  18. How true. I actually see many that after getting the refusal will write a narrative that just says refusal form signed. I maybe give to much. I explain my multiple attempts to get them to go. I put in detail types of risks that were explained to the person. I try and put as much info to back why I determined them to be alert and oriented to make an educated refusal. Etc.
  19. Well basic I commend your excitement. I do think the funds for your and other similar state and federal funded groups would be better spent helping areas that do not have proper staffing and equipment to improve care. The citys if all the gov and private taxis (so called ambulances ) would have an occasional mutual aid meeting could be prepared for disasters in there area. Yet in my area with 3000+ square miles with one ambulance to take care of it has no help. Funds could be used to hire people and buy equipment for areas such as ours. This equipment and people would stay sharp on a day to day basis, but then if a disaster they could respond. Much better than warehousing all the equipment.
  20. Now you are right there are a few things that require ambulance, but most that you would allow BLS to take would be fine in a Taxi rather than an ambulance.
  21. Turns out to be ate spicy food even though the doctor said not to.

  23. Maybe he's been taking his special medicine that is illegal.
  24. Wait a minute clinical judgement is kind of like common sense, we're not allowed to use it. Thats why we're all just TAXI Drivers.
