Terry Bradshaw spinal injury Oct 10, 1976 Just saw update about Kevin Everett on Fox NFL Sunday. They were talking about the hypothermia and other treatment received and how he has regained some use of extremities. Then they showed when Terry Bradshaw received a spinal injury. The care he received was they took a door off locker room and strapped him to it. Then they left him in the hallway till game ended. Loaded him still on door into airplane and flew him back to Pitt with the team. Then they took him to the hospital. Man we have come a long way.

Kim most of us have had similar battles. Most of us want to see EMS become a recognized health field. Notice I say most. A number of people just look at this as a hobby ( ie volunteers) and if we make changes it will make it harder for them to play. A big problem is we can not quit fighting ourselves long enough to establish an identity beyond taxi umm ambulance driver. Actually probably get rich. Remember on here someone talked about a program that charged a ton of money for a short boot camp paramedic program. At what they charged run 2 or 3 classes a year with 20 students you could live comfortably. Honestly some sort of EMS program would be a way to make money. As we have already discussed there will be no changes to better EMS so why not get on the bandwagon and make some money. Everyone wants a shortcut to glory. TEEX actually has a 2 month paramedic program with a high NR pass rate and charged a lot less. Never met a medic out of it but they should be just as good as any other medic right. :wink:

I agree it controls them better. It will allow easy IV and vitals. Also never forget to tie a triangle bandage directly across top of knees. It's amazing how weak you are if you can't bend the knees.
