Nope the more education we achieve the dumber we realize we are. As a basic I to was the greatest gift to mankind next to only one. Now with more education I wonder what the hell am I doing. The more I learn the more I realize I still need to learn. I remember as a basic thinking why the heck wasn't the ALS provider pushing this drug, now I sit and keep thinking is it possible I missed something, what if this is the wrong drug? I feel dumber even though I am more educated. What scares me are the people straight out of school that have no fear they are the real dummys. As to the attitude sadly many have no pride they just look at EMS as any other job. This attitude is part of what keeps us down, keeps us from getting viewed as a professional group. We need to have a humble pride, in other words we should really be proud of the help we can provide but be humble enough to recognize that we are still very limited.

Ruff I am seeing more and more schools leaving books out of the costs. This lets the students bargain hunt. I have had students mention they can get the same book cheaper and I guess many schools have decided to let them try. And for years colleges have just had a list of books and you had to go buy your books from campus book store or elsewhere, seperate from the course costs.

First congrats. As to when, it is an unknown, especially since as you describe there are multiple people involved before it reaches it's destination. But my guess you'll see something by early next week. I hope it's sooner for you.

I get so angry with mothers that start pulling their child out of car seats after a wreck. IE... Rolled up on wreck with major damage. I tell mother leave the child in the car seat because moving the child could cause more injury or death. She says "so" and proceeds to remove the child. Makes you want to bring charges of child endangerment.

Just keep it simple with the most pertinent info. End by asking if they would like any other info. Your partner can buy or make a radio report sheet that helps get them into the habit of giving the same info in a standard format.

W/o reading it the first thing would be to determine the issues that concern the people you are going to ask for money and point out how helping you will help them with what concerns them.

If I understand OP he is asking if we should treat the person that killed our family member, not if we should treat our own family. I have no problem working on my own family, been there, done that got the t-shirt, was happy I knew what to do. I would have a problem working on the person that killed my family. You should not treat the person that killed your family as you would be dealing with to many emotions and things could happen.

If the person killed your family member on purpose, I bet there are many on here that are actually thinking he would not be a patient long that if anything he would need funeral home instead of ambulance, so no concern as to who works him as a patient. But thats just me playing guess that feeling, but could be wrong I guess.

Hate the purple gloves but if I don't make the order sometimes others order them. Bought one of the Sam onscene guides with it's straps etc. Neat in theory but it just rides around and doesn't get used. Just write on my glove or the patient until I get to my notebook.

First using retarded as an insult is more unprofessional than any bash post. Second as the first official bash poster, it was clear that the first ones were serious places to blow off steam. As others found it a way to blow off steam they have added to the bash posts and most in the funny sections. I am not offended by being bashed, I felt like my peers felt I was professional enough to take some ribbing. I am a professional. As a professional I do not want to burn out. To help cope with stress it is nice to be able to air my gripes with people that at least have some clue to what I deal with. To have fun, to make lite benefits myself and therefore my patients. Please do not read the bashes if you do not want to. I do not read all the posts on the site. I do read most and I am not afraid to add my opinion or thoughts even when not popular. Some of those posts have gotten me bashed for real by some on this site and not in the fun way and in truly unprofessional ways. But life goes on and I will continue to post what I feel at that time. When I get close to far someone I respect and usually respectfully let me know so I tone it down. Don't take offense. Let's all learn from each other, but lets also keep this a place we can release some steam.
