  1. Sweet Potato Pie, Millionaire Pie,
  2. http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billin...pe=B&bn=240 States, among other things, that EMS is an essential service in Pennsylvania. Of course if not funded that is meaningless.
  3. Oh its Canadian their EKG's are different much like the money. Wonder what the elevation, depression, intervals, etc rate difference is? Just kidding. Thanks, I will check it out.
  4. I disagree Dwayne. Most of us are just sick and tired of having to type the same facts day after day. And then the same idiots fighting despite facts presented. This ans other EMS sites seem to be having the same problem those of us that fought hard are just tired of the online crap. I am making my focus on the area I am in. Hopefully starting at the local I can spread my desire to see EMS improve because no improvement has been seen by mine and others efforts online. And yes Wendy does work hard to promote EMS improvement. To bad most have no desire to see improvement.
  5. To work a 48/96 1 ambulance requires 6 Paramedics. If you want to limit overtime you hire 2 part time Paramedics as well.
  6. They told me I was valedictorian.
  7. In Texas you will find many 911 services that have no fire ties. You will have a better chance of getting hired if you go ahead and get your Paramedic before applying.
  8. I always heard that you guys up north had a little close relationship.
  9. Can you please provide reference as I show in my research that either Procainamide or Amiodarone can be used with WPW. I also show that you avoid Adenosine, Beta Blockers, Calcium channel blockers, Digoxin. Thanks for the help.
  10. Are you claiming you guys aren't?
  11. Texas gossip is that they got the patients pulse back just before he collapsed. Don't know if that is true or not. Also would it change your way of deciding who to treat if you were alone with the patient and now pulseless partner?

  13. LOL. At my old service we had almost an active labor call every shift. I do not miss doing that.
  14. That is the way rural EMS is you and your partner. If doing good maybe patients family is helpful, but often they are just in the way. I am not sure what type of response Falfurrias, TX gets as that is where it says he worked. Falfurrias is only about 6000 people. My guess it was just him and his partner. http://maps.google.com/maps?source=ig&...ge&resnum=1
  15. If your certification is just basic then yes you are just a basic. Sorry, even if we are educated etc if we only wear a basic patch then we are just a basic. The amount of medical training, not education even, is very minimal, thus the reason called basic or what many call EMT.

  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/CoolMAX-Kevlar-Bullet-...id=p3911.c0.m14 Would that work?
  19. First cap locks on left side of keyboard. Thanks. Second is it still under warranty? Did you program it yourself or pay someone? Whoever programmed may have failed to make some setting correct. But it also could be a problem with radio itself.
  20. Yup. Wonder if he bought right type?
  21. Canadian Medic Purchases Own Body Armor MIKE McINTYRE Winnipeg Free Press 2009 Aug 12 WINNIPEG - Bryan Leach was unable to save the life of Winnipeg's latest shooting victim, despite frantic efforts. But the veteran paramedic is doing all he can to ensure he and his colleagues stay safe as gangs and guns become a summertime staple in the city's core. Leach, 35, arrived at the Flora Avenue crime scene early Tuesday wearing $1,200 worth of body armour he paid for out of his own pocket. He is angry the City of Winnipeg won't currently fund protection for the 160 paramedics who are exposed to all kinds of risks while on the front lines. "I think something will happen to one our members sooner rather than later," Leach told the Free Press on Tuesday afternoon. He was coming off just a few hours of sleep following the emotionally draining experience of watching a man die. The city is currently studying the issue of body armour and is planning to survey all paramedics to gauge interest. "It's like we're reinventing the wheel here, it just keeps dragging on," said Leach, who serves as a health and safety committee representative in his union. He noted a similar poll was taken in 2004. In that case, 50 per cent of members wanted protective equipment. Another 25 per cent were undecided, while the remaining 25 per cent said they weren't interested. "With education and the higher prevalence of violence in the city, I'm positive (the numbers of) those who want armour have increased," said Leach. He decided not to wait and bought his own equipment, with the blessing of his union. Leach hopes to write it off on taxes as a "work expense." He believes only one other paramedic has made the same investment.
  22. wuz da menin o dat?
  23. In the field and even in our hospitals para is used for live births. Then abortion is used for any miscarriage (spontaneous abortion ) or intentional abortion. So I get a patient that is G9P6A2, breaks down as, 9 pregnancy's, 6 live births, 2 abortions of some sort, and 1 in the oven.
