  1. Did you search IMERT here? Seems a year or so ago somebody really did a disservice to IMERT or one similar.
  2. Could it be a psychological cause? Perhaps the fear, etc triggered him to shut down.
  3. So would I be better using Fentanyl 3 mcg/kg for sedation as it has less effect on BP? Remember I'm a student still and thinking of drugs at my service. I did not use succinylcholine as it can increase ICP. Should I go with Rocuronium 1.2mg/kg instead as it has fast onset similiar to sucs with fewer cardiovascular side effects?
  4. Yes we need to secure an airway. So we will need to sedate and paralyze. Versed at 0.1mg/kg. Then Vecuronium 0.1mg/kg. Does this relax the trismus allowing me to intubate? The restricted mouth opening can be due to either the involvement of temporomandibular joint or pathology of muscles which are responsible for mouth opening. Any signs of penetrating trauma to face/neck?
  5. That is the biggest key to really being successful with your drugs, should have mentioned it as well. Good for you keep up the hard work. Some of the more experienced instructors may have some good drug books that they could suggest for you to get more in depth. Also don't hesitate to google or bing the drugs to get more information.
  6. Not carry a gun when entering the hot zone? Heck no that is just stupid. If things go bad you would be a sitting duck.
  7. scene safe? How many patients? How far from hospital? Any patients need extricated?
  8. Hey at least I'm a good example of a bad example.
  9. Hand write each drug and all its details. Then record them in your voice. Listen to them. This covers multiple senses so it soaks in more. Then do it all over again and again every day. I read somewhere that we retain X% of what we see, X% of what we hear, X% of what we hear, etc. So the more senses involved the more you retain. Hang in there. Also even on small breaks test yourself, choose a drug write it out from memory, then check it. Hope this helps some.
  10. Wow I'm speechless that you included me with such a wonderful group. Thank you, but you're still a no good basic that should not be allowed to be a taxi driver. But as a Paramedic student I agree lots of various opinions and ways of explaining things really helps drive points home. And sometimes its fun even when I know I'm wrong to argue a point in order to get more out of people.
  11. OUCH. Never fear super emt is here.
  12. Good thing I realized or might have ripped my costume down to the underroos. Spenac super emt uses his magical BP cuff to slowly take control of lones brain.
  13. http://www.charlottesvillenewsplex.tv/news...s/49388377.html C.A.R.S. Super EMTs Learn Rope Rescue Skills Save Email Print A | A | A June 28th, 2009 Super EMTs were in a rope rescue class all weekend and then finally got a chance to put their skills to the test. C.A.R.S. instructors say this kind of class is unique. "I don't know of any other place around here that does it," said Sarah Ferrell, an EMT-B and instructor for the class. "Most people just take an EMT class in the classroom hours, learn their EMT skills. I don't know anyone that teaches this wide a variety of technical rescue skills, from vehicle to water to technical to ropes." click link more to laugh more. Super EMT has to go save more Paramedics, catch you later.
  14. Another Beginning by Les McCann Hows that?
  15. Hey it makes it where I can tolerate you.
  16. So you could prescribe to me as there is documentation here for all to see. So based on your evaluation when can I expect the good stuff?
  17. Does this mean private chat is out? Get your minds out the gutter.
  18. I would disagree. I am very aware of two college degreed licensed Paramedics that have ever credential they can attain as related to EMS. They attend every type of training they can find. They ask for opinions on every call they run. They strive for improvement. Guess what? They are the worst Paramedics in the field despite years in the field. They have been removed from almost every service in Texas it seems. They can not take the education and apply it in the field. So they do not have "it". If you are new and don't seem to have "it", give it some time. If after a couple of years you still don't have "it", find a new profession. This happens in every profession some just can not get "it" no matter how much effort they put in. Just like me I could attend the best vocal schools and I still would not be able to sing where anyone would want to listen, heck not even the head banging screaming that some call music would not work, so I do not have "it" as to singing.
  19. Older than dirt?
  20. Go back to the other site atropine.
  21. I have. It happens when they over populate. That and in a weakened state they also catch and die from illnesses that normally would do no harm.
  22. I don't shoot all animals only the guilty ones.
