  1. Wrong. They will fund the paid service so their citizens get proper care. Drop a lot of the pork and cancel a few celebrations and holiday decorations and they will actually be able to add more paid staff.
  2. We do fewer than 500 calls per year and are paid as well as RN's in the area. No reason not to have a paid service.
  3. LOL The drama continues. http://leadernewspapers.net/modules.php?na...mp;new_topic=18 "The end for volunteer EMTs? By Alexis Tarrazi Senior Reporter (June 10, 2009, 11:05 a.m.) — Dictionary.com describes a volunteer as “a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking; a person who performs a service willingly and without pay.” As the state budget eases closer to becoming reality, local emergency medical technicians (EMTs) may feel one of the harshest cuts from the financial scalpel. In an effort to lower the budget, Gov. Jon S. Corzine has proposed redirecting $4 million from the dedicated EMT Training Fund to the general treasury of the State of New Jersey, leaving only a balance of $400,000." 4. Don't check my dog that closely.
  5. LOL Should have posted this in humor I guess.
  6. Yes epi pens are high dollar.
  7. May have to have arm the medics and have one of them be standing guard duty while the other checks the ambulance or if staging while one sleeps other stays alert and prepared to shoot all that approach.
  8. Darn I took the 8 hour didn't know there was an accelerated course. But at least they practice medicine unlike D.O.'s.
  9. Next week I'm enrolled in brain surgery for dummys so I will be able to play with gray matter. COOOLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear insurance companys will make people choose EMS brain surgeons as we are cheaper. I just don't know why the class is so long, hope I can stay awake the whole 8 hours.

  12. I hate people like that, they should be just as miserable as I am.
  13. In these troubled times might be the only solution.
  14. I say it was a justified 911 call. He was robbed by a theif dressed as a clown. Heck that clown is responsible for more deaths than any mass murderer. In fact the clown probably pays LE to look the other way.
  15. LOL. Warned you. But it is scary. Much like EMS seems other professions like shortcuts to.
  16. Accelerated training a problem? I know we complain about the accelerated programs in EMS but what about other professions. Well check out this school: http://www.gulfstreamacademy.com/ "Gulfstream Training Academy’s First Officer Program offers airline bound aviation professionals training and experience at an actual airline flying real flights for Gulfstream International Airlines in only 3 months for commercial pilot certificate holders or as few as 6 months for zero time pilots." Great idea right? Well what about this? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1243293481...icle-outset-box "Gulfstream plays an important role within the regional-airline sector. Though it is relatively small, flying 630,000 passengers last year, many young pilots work there or train at its affiliated training academy in order to gain experience before landing permanent jobs at various regional carriers. Capt. Marvin Renslow, the pilot of the Continental Connection flight that crashed in February, attended flight school there and also had worked at Gulfstream International. Pilots in the two previous fatal U.S. commuter crashes -- both caused by pilot error -- also spent time at either Gulfstream International Airlines or Gulfstream's training operations, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. Mr. Hackett said Capt. Renslow's record at Gulfstream was uneventful and he passed all his simulator proficiency tests and check rides."
  17. I laughed so hard at BLS911's joke I think I need to wear depends before I read it again. How ..........................................
  18. No I'll leave it here for now. Hey when did I give you forum power?
  19. Whats the point? Zombies exist? OH I get it it the debate of whether the uneducated should have access to these medical supplies. But watch out if we debate to much we might decide that the uneducated EMS people can't have it either.
  20. I just wish reality was like reality tv.
  21. This topic proves that zombies exist.
  22. Think were trying to keep it civil as in civil war. OK sorry. But I could not resist.
  23. We need a new title almost ended up divorced when my wife saw me opening up something called strip tease.
  24. Glad my school has a good rep. I have been allowed all over the hospitals. Of course while in OR 2 other students from another school were there and they were not allowed to do more than watch. I intubated. Helped adjust vent equipment. Established another IV during ne of the surgerys when they deciided they needed more access. Delivered 2 babys but I do that all the time. ICU had me doing all kinds of care. All the while students from a college program with a well not as ..................... were watching from the sidelines. That would suck to only observe and not be able to do.
