What gets me the muslims claim their holy book is based on the priciples of love yet you have extreme groups like this that will show no love or common sense. But you see the same thing in all religions including those that that claim they have no religion. Guess some people just have the extremes w/o common sense. Hope she wins. To make sure people do a proper exam I would like to make it required that all patients have all clothes removed and a hospital gown put on. This would serve the purpose of helping those that refuse to look to have no excuse not to look. It also would discourage those with no reason for being on the ambulance to maybe decide they really can go by other means to the hospital.

Why don't we all chip in and buy her a bottle of tylonol. It will keep her from getting pregnant. How you ask? She has to hold one pill between her knees at all times. But it does sound as if this young la.... person needs help. Someone needs to teach her about birth control. Someone needs to teach her about raising kids. This latest will be her 4th kid and she's only 17 so she has probably never attended even basic health classes in junior high as she was out making babies.

I just do not understand why so many have trouble. As a man in EMS for way to long I have only had one female patient that was oposed to getting exposed for her assessment. She was a teenage pregnant in labor. After explaining the need to keep an eye on her so the baby would not be hurt she willing let me check her multiple times during transport. As to lung and heart sounds and visualizing while doing so no complaints. Lifting breasts to do 12 lead no complaints. Palpating an alert patient head to toe including all no complaints. Having patients disrobe and examine and cover no complaints young or old. Point is do your job. If you always do you job right and consistently there is nothing to fear. Now if the hospital notices only the hot patients are stripped and the ones so ugly even their mothers would not hug them are not you will have problems. Actually JessiR is right. By exposing they may see indications long before vitals tank. Rat you are right treat the whole person. Take all the evidence based on what is seen, felt, heard, machines, etc and make your diagnosis and start treating.

They are in a service car so the public should have right to expect professionalism even from volunteers.

It just aggravates the heck out of me that people do not understand that we are a hands and eyes on Medical Profession, not a taxi service. To many people seem to just want to load and go w/o any kind of a proper exam. So do you guys all expose and look and listen? Do you ignore your own bashfulness and do the job as a true medical professional?

I bring this up because I see so many Parmedics and especially basics that do not at least move clothes to do lung and heart sounds. Surprisingly I see many that just feel over the clothes for trauma. If you do not put your stethoscope on skin you fail as a provider. If you do not at least expose the area of complaint for a trauma patient you need to get out this profession now or get your money back from the school that failed to give you any training or education.

They get the same number of hours training for an MVA, MCI, CVA, TIA, or any of the other medical trauma they will see. They are not educated only trained. Sorry the only reason not to take a 2 week basic course is if you can not absorb material quickly.
