  1. If you only have gotten regular Dr. Pepper and not the pure cane sugar origional you haven't tasted Dr. Pepper. When I travel where they have it you would think I was a smuggler as I load my SUV down with it. Hawiaa and Arizona
  2. Texas confirmed. http://www.dublindrpepper.com/history.aspx Dublin Dr Pepper History In 1885 Waco, Texas was a wild frontier town, nicknamed “six-shooter junction.” Wade Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store was a prominent business and popular meeting place in downtown Waco. People came in for everything from flea powder to stationery, from cigars to fountain drinks. One of Morrison’s employees, pharmacist Charles Alderton, noticed how customers loved the smell of the soda fountain with its many fruit, spice and berry aromas. He wanted to invent a drink that tasted the wonderful way the soda fountain smelled. After much experimentation he finally felt he had hit on “something different.” Patrons at the drug store agreed.
  3. Like I said part of it may be a state by state thing.
  4. Richard my advice is quit now you will never last in this field.
  5. Go to PEA protocol. CPR. Start your drugs. Get him intubated. Work him there as current guidelines say no rolling codes.
  6. I believe actually OSHA has a say about it so even if your employer laughed if they were caught they might not laugh very long.
  7. Exactly just as it is unclear if these EMT's sucked or were actually doing the job right. Them seeming rude may have been them trying to get people out of the way so they could treat the patient. This eye witness is unreliable.
  8. I would have to check but I believe you can be fined several thousands of dollars and possibly lose your certification for food in the patient compartment. I could be wrong or perhaps that is a state by state thing.
  9. Any other people there? If so what did they say happened? ABC's? Skin color, skin temp? Pupils? Vitals? Glucose level? EKG's? Do have to wonder about toxins with the pool, the garden etc.
  10. Wow thanks Itku2er. Means a lot that you would say such a nice thing about me.
  11. Wow the nurse lacerated his tongue with the nail file. She stabbed him thats the only way blood could be there. See how easy it is to draw conclusions. All we have are one persons interpetations. There have been multiple studies proving eye witnesses are extremely unreliable.
  12. I thought about competing but then thought a Texas Paramedic student beating you guys might harm relations between the two countrys. Hope everyone has fun. Maybe someday I can attend.
  13. Darn firedoc you'll do anything to get a little attention. Get well soon.
  14. My partner gave me the wrong pulse or he's deterioted quickly. I want bi lateral IV's Just saw that he now collapsed. Does he still have pulse? If not start CPR. Check rythym, is it shockable?
  15. Has law enforcement secured scene? What do we see/smell as we arrive at the location and as we approach the teens? When you speak to the teens do they respond?
  16. http://www.mysuncoast.com/Global/story.asp...nav=menu577_2_1 Duck strikes Florida medical helicopter Associated Press - March 7, 2009 11:14 AM ET GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Four people were aboard an emergency medical helicopter when a duck shattered the windshield and landed in the cockpit. Pilot Don Irving's eye was injured in the collision, but he managed to land safely. Thursday night, the helicopter was returning to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida carrying an unidentified trauma patient, a flight nurse and a flight paramedic. The copter was flying at an altitude of 700 feet and just a few minutes from the hospital, preparing to land on the rooftop helipad, when the bird flew into the windshield. The bird clipped off several switches on the overhead instrument panel before landing on the foot of 1 of the medical crew. Irving remained calm and landed on the hospital's helipad. http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/stat...er_crash_030709 Duck crashes in helicopter cockpit GAINESVILLE - The pilot of a medical chopper was able to land safely, despite a duck crashing through the windshield and landing in the cockpit. He was flying to Shand's Hospital in Gainesville when it happened. The pilot's eye was hurt in the collision, but he managed to land on the hospital's heli-pad anyway. 17. Anthony thanks for a very educational scenario.
  18. Since you guys at MAST were union all be it fire union you at least must have gotten good pay. How much per hour did each level make?
  19. I hate to sound like a jerk but why in the hell would EMS join a fire union? What did you expect when things are between EMS and fire the IAFF is always going to choose fire. You need to force feed the letter from IAFF that says in part you can't do multiple jobs well in regards to having police take over fire to all those in charge. Same principle applys. Screw the union if you guys don't rebel against the IAFF you will be out of jobs. Plus any that keep their jobs will see bad if not worse work conditions.
  20. Already a topic a few weeks back.
  21. While I have not decided the best system, I do know the worst system is one that includes fire in any way.
  22. I don't use the monitor diagnosis as they tend to be unreliable. Got 3 12 leads. Elevation and depression present everytime.
  23. Keep that habit up. The few seconds extra it takes will not harm the patient. Never let your adrenalin take over and make you jump steps.
  24. http://www.emtcity.com/index.php?showtopic=14342&hl= Recent discussion of found with quick search.
  25. What helped me the most was when someone with lots of experience said it doesn't hurt me. He didn't mean go in wrecklessly and do damage, but rather just confidently stick and put it in the vein. If you sit there and try slow threading it hurts more and patients tense up. Plus you might give up when in fact you have not actually gone far enough. I wish I could tell you that a human is just like a dummy but I would be lieing. Make sure you can palpate the vein, forget seeing it. If you can't palpate it you want get it even if you see it.
