  1. We gave zofran to a patient on a transfer. No vomitting for the hour plus trip. Got to the hospital. Nurse got rude with us and said wait. Patient said they needed to puke. So I told nurse she said she would get with us when she got good and ready. Well patient said I can't stop I have to puke. Told him use that nice patch of hospital floor as the nurse was walking past. Was a wonderful sight. He got placed in his room real quick then.
  2. For those that want to play cop you can watch these cameras along the border and report any activity that looks suspicious. Like people crossing the river. Or people with large back packs full of drugs. http://www.texasborderwatch.com/
  3. So what are the approved methods of administration?
  4. I agree in this regard you guys have us beat big time. But you see in the USA there are so many whacker want a bes it is cheaper to let us get injured and hire a replacement than to buy the right equipment. I started a thread about you guys rear door lifts. I want one but can't find a USA company to build it as they say there is no market here for it.
  5. Right. That there is funny I don't care who you are.
  6. I have never used it and have been given no education in its use. So I need everything. Sorry to be so much trouble.
  7. Has anyone used it in trauma, spinal injury?
  8. OK Solu Medrol (methylprednisolone sodium succinate). What is your experience with it? What do you use it for?How do you use it? Yes I know some but hope to learn more.
  9. Doing my Paramedic ambulance ride outs the service had just put Zofran on board that day. I had a patient activly vomitting. Slow IV push of Zofran 4mg and in mid vomit patient stopped. Patient remained free of nausea and vomitting for over an hour. Patient stayed alert and was able to talk to us entire transport. I like phenergan but sometimes makes patients sleep when you need them alert.
  10. OK seems much more complex than the autovent 3000. But we have these at my full time job. Any help would be appreciated. Here is what I am talking about. http://www.progressivemed.com/estylez_item.aspx?item=11684
  11. Now that makes sense. But it would seem that other meds would be of more value. I do think a simple emergency set up is a great idea so care be be started quickly. Would be horrible to have patients in need and nothing to work with at all.
  12. Ok guys asking for some more education. The two vents at my part time job are Autovent 3000 and Carevent ALS Handheld. Can you go over proper use of? Any good links to help me be more proficient as I'm not satisfied with the training given. Note I said training, I want education. I realize these are two of the simpler ventilators but I also realize that proper use is vital. Thanks. Here they are for reference: http://www.progressivemed.com/estylez_item.aspx?item=88402 http://www.progressivemed.com/estylez_item.aspx?item=14212
  13. So are you saying someone stole the bag or that this is an actual response bag for a blackwater team? At least they usually have someone with some medical training unlike the guy mentioned in the link.
  14. Actually some speak better English than I do, but that may not be saying much. Yes there babys are allowed citizenship, just some people that lie to them that they will lose their babys. Usually its people that charge them money to help them break the law by entering the USA illegally. There has been a law proposed don't know if it ever passed that was going to do away with automatic citizenship for babys of illegals.
  15. I can chip in some belly button lint.
  16. No wonder we kicked you guys out of our country ya'll are annoying. Nope if on duty he should wipe his booty and take care of his patient.
  17. Well who better to fight zombies than mercenarys?
  18. Yes dogs, cats, skunks, fox and many other animals spread rabies. http://www.jwildlifedis.org/cgi/reprint/39/2/278.pdf We had a lady get attacked by a rabid fox. Took a lot to kill that darn thing. Poor lady had to go through some horrible medical treatment to save her life.
  19. Unless they have been in the USA for years it becomes obvious pretty soon whether they are legal or not w/o even asking. And I don't care either other than for billing. The sad thing is some illegals in labor have been told that their babys will be taken away from them if they are caught. These girls actually are the quitest deliverys of babys you'll ever get because they fear that if they cause you problems you will report them.
  20. Me to. Got a nice smokey effect one time with the foil over the fuse. Other times it got me home.
  21. I like debating you Mateo. Your like me we fight just to fight. There is a difference the ones that ride are there because we need someone with legal authority to make decisions. Honestly risk management had little to say in the matter. We also had the slight problem of illegals paying people to act sick and then claim the passenger was family. Turned out per border patrol we transported alot of non patient illegals that they caught. We actually have found out some of the kids parents were not their parents. Plus we had the problem of the passenger getting busted with lots of drugs taped to their bodys. So our border issues also come into play. I do see your point about tatas but its more fun to fight with you.
  22. But you do ask for an address. Often they will say they do not have one or will say its in Mexico, Hondurus, Canada , etc. Did you realize that the feds will reimburse like medicaid not much but some of medical care provided to illegals but you have to have some proof of country like their drivers license from their home land. You do not report them but at the end of month during billing you submit the info and get some reimbursement. There is nothing illegal about asking for social security and license for your paperwork.
  23. Whats wrong with killing foxes? They spread rabies and also the pelts make nice decorations.
  24. Extremes are important to consider. We learn by considering that which is not popular. I do not oppose flight. But I think we need flight it just needs better guidelines for use raher than flying anyone more than X minutes away. It should be based on actual patient benefit. Would they suffer harm by taking 30 minutes to the hospital compared to 10?
  25. Actually this crosses all borders. If you are in a place with the equipment, denying care is unethical. If your guys meal breaks are so unbreakable you should leave the ambulance and go POV for them. That way less chance of getting asked to work during your break. And surely if you did respond you would be allowed to restart your break afterwards.
