  1. Good answer. I am a firm believer in doing things like pain management prior to moving them.
  2. But see with economic stimulus bill we could. The feds put the money where it creates jobs and helps the communitys. OOPS never mind that would be common sense and common sense is not allowed. Never mind we'll just dump more money so executives can get more perks.
  3. There are a surplus of people nationwide. Increase pay and people with certification will return to EMS.
  4. Thats what is in the link I provided.
  5. Crotch I will not get into this debate again. You are heading back down the road where you act as if you are the only right person. I have never talked a person out of going to the hospital. I do not deny transport to people because I am lazy, I deny transport because I am an Emergency Medical Professional and not a taxi. I perform an exam and even provide treatment. If they do not need an ambulance they are denied. If I think they need an ambulance I will try and persuade them with all my heart but if the say no I can do nothing but get a signature and document. A trauma patient gets immediate care on scene why ahould we delay care to medical patients just to make sure they don't wake up and say no. Your actions speak poorly of your ethics. Sorry but I will not start IV's just to try and get ALS pay rates and I will not delay care in order to get transports.
  6. You can not force patient to go. By waiting to treat until enroute to the hospital you have denied the patient to make a choice, you have forced them to go by with holding needed medical care until convenient for you regardless that it would have been best to treat immediately. THAT IS WRONG AND YOU JUST COST THEM A LOT OF MONEY.
  7. "Question? on dirp rates" Whats a "dirp"? :?:  Here's a link to calculations for Paramedics. http://www.cityofsomerset.com/ems/IV%20Dru...alculations.pdf
  8. I am currently taking out multiple large loans that do not have payments due till 2013. I will never pay a dime for all this useless junk I'm buying.
  9. We have an IV option but I would have to double check dosage.
  10. You are forgiven my son. Actually I agree with you. Those of us w/o convience of 5 minute transports really need a way to make patients more comfortable.
  11. We have a member that designed and sold a new oxygen wrench. Perhaps he will see this and offer some advice. Here is his website. http://www.wantynu.com/
  12. Wow no way to choose. Do I get 3 for each of my multiple personalitys?
  13. I hate that policy. It is just a way to bill more because many refuse transport once awake. So services now want you to wait till in the ambulance and enroute before pushing D-50.
  14. You should see the expression on the youngsters face when you mention your favorite 45, they expect you to pull a gun and bust a cap in them. And if they know what a 45 or a 33 is they have no clue that there were 78's.
  15. You mean after scamming us they are threatening to sue still? I should sue for emotional distress they caused me. I was actually concerned and dropped my tough outer shell allowing my self to be vulnerable. I think I shall contact my attorneys Dewey, Screwem, and Howe.
  16. I know a couple that get blood on their gloves during IV starts. Rather than change gloves they touch eveything with the dirty gloves. Drives me nuts. I use more gloves on a basic no blood call than most use on a bloody mess. I just hate touching stuff with gloves that have touched a patient.
  17. lol. No wonder the public is so confused. Maybe they think we really are just taxis.
  18. Discussion is about low blood sugar levels. None of us hesitate to go IO if needed, but we also do not use it when we can safely go IV.
  19. Sadly the only education some will learn from is us showing up and saying no. We have to break the cycle that the you call we haul system has created.
  20. Check here for refurb units. Might save you some money if they still have them. http://www.progressivemed.com/
  21. Make sure they will still upgrade the LP 12. Rumor was they were not doing upgrades on them but I have not confirmed that. I do know I have been waiting two months for a replacement part on one LP 12.
  22. LP 12 come as only 3 leads. 12 leads are an option on them.
  23. Amen.
  24. And that is how the fight began.
  25. So you have my space in your truck. Interesting. To each his own I guess. I do wonder why you take patients to your truck though? I prefer to take them to my ambulance since it has the equipment I need.
