  1. Actually each cabinet and each bag is supposed to always be stocked a certain way. The other crew changing it is a violation of policy.
  2. Touching with dirty gloves is my pet peeve. I do hate stuff restocked wrong but I can fix that during ambulance check out.
  3. Left bloody hand prints on the rails, the cabinet doors, and holy crap on several of the supplys. Probably got blood on radio or phone used for contacting hospital. And the pens, and heck we should just destroy the ambulance rather than risk infection.
  4. But staffing with 1 basic plus a driver is just an extremely bad solution.
  5. Actually I brought this up before you did. Just figured I'd keep you from taking credit for my idea. Thanks. But I think it would be better that we require 2 medics in patient compartment and require a driver specialist. Yes wuld increase budgets but if Fed were to fund this third position to help the economy no worrys. Plus would be be better than just giving people welfare.
  6. But again you are saying lay off half the ambulance crew and replace with drivers. Still equal number of unemployed you did not solve anything. Now if we developed a driver specialist and required two medical professionals in the patient compartment you just added a whole lot of jobs. Plus for serious patients you have made sure there are two sets of hands and two brains to ensure proper patient care.
  7. Actually you would make the basics be unemployed so really just replaced one low paid worker with another. At least the basic should know the name of the equipment I request so they can go get what I need.
  8. Wendy is right. Make sure the kids interact with other kids. My kiddo plays with kids that are in public school, sorry not plays hangs out. Forgot growing up they become boring and hang out. We have always made sure the kiddo has access to activitys with other kids. It is nice though that it is a little easier to help avoid the trouble kids. Home schol is tough as it is easy to allow a few days to slide by and before you know it its a few weeks. Do not let that happen.
  9. Some c-collars have openings that allow access.
  10. Thank very much I'll be here all week.
  11. OK all will be advanced level. Here are just a few minimum required items. 12 lead interpetation Chest tubes Pericardiocentesis RSI Can't think of term ( maybe Escharotomy ) but where you cut the burned skin on chest to allow expansion so patient can either breath or you can bag. Foley Pacing Thats a start.
  12. Maybe we should all use the Jeff Foxworthy method when the kid throws a tantrum just loudly say "Where are your parents?" as you walk away.
  13. Darn thought we had something for real.
  14. One could argue though that by punishing the whole family by leaving the store actually may have given the fit thower what they wanted. Some kids are vindictive dontcha know.
  15. Congrats on your child. Children are a true joy and a lot of work. So I guess that means you won't have to retrieve any teddy bears down an embankment that way.
  16. But AK the swat or spanking is not the end. If being used they need an explanation of why they are being spanked. Also they may also have other consequences. I do think it is unfair for you to liken a parent that spanks to being a bully. I think no matter how anyone argues the key is a consistent way of discipline. It requires the parent to live up to what they say. Spanking is not a swift over and done. It allows a situation to be addressed. The example Crotch gave, a quick swat stops the tantrum. We can then finish getting the other items the family needs w/o punishing the entire family. Then we get home and you discuss with the child why their actions were unacceptable and determine what additional restrictions they deserve for their behavior.
  17. Wow something about that sellers name seems familiar. Not sure what it is but I'll eventually put my finger on it.
  18. I think I answered that with the below:
  19. But why it is still just a vein? Please someone help me out. Was I improperly educated in this matter?
  20. Sleeping Bag - ZZ Top
  21. OK here goes. I have known some real monsters that were spanked but not actually any consistent discipline. Parents get frustrated and spank. Kids had no clue why what etc and they remained monsters. I have seen the same with time outs, grounding, etc. If it is not consistent any type of discipline will fail as it just confuses the child. The well behaved children behave because they have had consistent educational discipline that may include a spanking even. All this crap that there is only one right way is truly annoying. I am sick of all the so called experts that just want to sell books. Here is the free guide to raising children: consistent educational discipline. Perhaps I should write a book and be a so called expert.
  22. How about this? Lets agree that there are many ways to raise a healthy happy well behaved child. The key is do people other than close friends/family think your child is well behaved? I know many parents that bragg about their children being well behaved yet they actually make Satan seem like a saint. So if your child is actually well mannered, well behaved you are doing it right regardless of what all the so called experts claim. Heck anyone with any age on them know that the experts come out with so called proof that the previous way was all wrong. In fact a few more years and the experts Dwayne, Wendy and others refer to will be supposedly proven wrong. Then another 10 years and they will be copied by someone else with slight changes. There is nothing new under the sun.
  23. Why worst case? I go EJ before I go IO. It is a vein. Easy good access. I have done many and pushed D-50 as well as other meds. I always feel like I am missing something as so many avoid EJ's with a passion or at least that is what it seems like.
  24. Yup a bunch of topics on it including much as to how bad an idea it is.
