If unable to sync you shock, hoping to reset. It is prefered if able to do syncronized cardioversion, shock that coincides with what the heart is doing. You can also try chemical cardioversion. A point if they are alert sedate if time allows because it hurts per patients telling me. Hope I made sense.

My kid never threw a fit at 10 years of age. This kid has the parents trained. This kid is in charge.

I'm all for it. Some familys sign a drug free pact then all get tested every so often. Make it where its a family deal so it does not seem you are after one child. Now if you do not have a pact and notice signs of drug use then tough get gets tested. Hopefully it will be a way to help your child get free before it is to late.

We don't use them, even our first responders just draw up a syringe, but I was always told they were SQ. During course we fired one to see the needle length. Guess I need to do some reading on them.

Just as a side point have you noticed how far the needle in an epi pen pops out? It is actually probably an IM injection in most people rather than SQ.

I personally think its time services start looking for the right person then fund their education. Maybe then we could weed out all the want a be's.

Actually Dwayne your right, they are not stand alone. It takes the use of multiple consistent means to raise a child properly. I do tire of being accused of being barbaric, ignorant etc for the fact that I will discipline including spanking at times. Do I actually beat my child no. But I promise you my child is well rounded and a joy to be around. My child has not thrown but a couple of fits when a baby and quickly found out that was not an option. Now over 10 years with out a fit thrown. Spanking is not a first response it is used to reinforce other forms of discipline if child chooses to push the limits. While I disagree with the total hands off that is your choice. These parents obviously have not had any consistant discipline or this would never have happened.

Immediate IM of EPI 1:1000. O2 IV Prepare for intubation or even RSI if no relief from EPI. Also prepare Quik-cric. Just for starters.

Wow theres that bad word training. Not education as it takes education to knw how to do, why to do, what to expect, etc, etc etc. We need to stop the piece mill crap that is the current state of EMS. I just noticed on the poll 3 people actually want to give the skills w/o the education. :shock:

Actually it only takes a second to pull out and use the EZ-IO or the B.I.G. Technology is great. I hate the manual screw types.

Could we dilute to allow it to flow in easier? Pardon the stupid student question. I have pushed it IO and it is hard. Crotch's complaint and concern made me wonder if diluting would be a better way to administer by IO. Thanks.

Yup a spanking and lost what ever I threw a fit for or with.

I was thinking maybe to help the kid learn a lesson the parents should have tied a rope around the kid. Thrown .... I mean lower him down to the bear. When the kid gets back up with the bear take it away and give it to a homeless child. If he throws a fit then I say combine discipline techniques. He will not know what happened but will never want to go through it again. No more fit throwing.
