  1. While we need improvements we need it from PreHospital Medical Professionals combined with safety experts rather than fire designing ambulances. But this will probably come about because of all the in fighting that takes place in EMS. At this moment I move we as PreHospital Medical Professionals whether fire based, LE based, or EMS only join forces to make a loud voice and take control of what should be an honorable profession. I even want to reach out to the volunteers that act more professional than some of our paid "professionals"(used that very loosely for some of the losers in our field). Let us all get together and hammer out some basic minimum standards that exceed the crap that so many live down to. Then we can have are specialtys addressed at a later date. For those like in my case that need things that those in the city never need do not throw a fit as mentioned we are only establishing the minimums and your service can still wish to establish even higher levels. Lets move forward and do whats right. Lets do it now.
  2. I say lets only allow Lights be used to help maintain scene safety. Really are we saving enough time to justify the risk to ourselves and the citizens of our communitys?
  3. As always Ruff makes a post that gets me thinking. Yes it hurts to think. Ok so maybe I over reacted. I still feel the follow car was to close. This becomes obvious as he has to go off the road not to hit the ambulance. I have also found in my lifetime that when a second ambulance, car, etc with L&S going is close as even a block apart often has to hit breaks as other cars pull out thinking first ambulance was only one there. So even when cops offer escorts I stay way behind. Again we in EMS use L&S way to much and use them to excuse what in all honesty is dangerous driving.
  4. Actually running lights and sirens has no affect on the speed I drive. I drive at speeds safe for the road conditions. Even in perfect weather Lights and sirens does not mean I'm going fast. Anyone that thinks Lights and sirens gives them the right to drive fast is a danger to those on the road way. Honestly EMS should do away with driving lights and sirens as it actually saves very little time and if anything probably does more harm than good.
  5. Thank you. I hoped my reputation had not been ruined.
  6. Exactly. Some of us were duped. I am not nice. Disregard my nice post.
  7. You examine patients? Surely you jest. A businessman can definitly tell you how better to do your job.
  8. Well we don't want to have this topic deleted. But a bann of the person that lied to the OP would be justified.
  9. No because you are wrong.
  10. Never have figured out this type of game. Sad. Truly sad and to think I actually expressed concern. Makes me mad. As much of a jerk as I am I am one of the first to offer help and good thoughts, etc. Maybe I should just be a heartless jerk rather than risk believing lies like she told.
  11. I agree. These type of posts by Vent are the ones I enjoy. But at times Vent well thats another discussion.
  12. To fast for road conditions. Second car for following to close especially for road conditions.
  13. If posted and I missed sorry. But these people in the ambulance and the car behind should be fired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dkNXabcSfw...feature=related [web:63e913766e]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dkNXabcSfw&feature=related[/web:63e913766e]
  14. Please keep us posted. We all hope for a speedy complete recovery.
  15. We do not fight. How dare you. I can not believe you would talk so badly.........................oops sorry thought I was at a different forum. Your right EMS is way to fragmented to do anything unified.
  16. Don't worry we will.
  17. Crotch as aggravated as I get with you I am sorry to hear that such events took place. I do appreciate that your topics as of late have not been set up where we only could agree with you or be scum. You do come up with some good topics and like myself you like to get people out of their comfort zone. As for any attacks on you mine have have been all in public so you could dispute my attacks. I did state I thought you good be the person you refer to but again did that in public not in hiding. Glad you have come out and addressed thge issue. I feel that if I don't like or agree then I should at least gripe about the person where they have the chance to know how I feel and either admit or prove me wrong. Again as of late your topics have been much more beneficial as they are not a battle of opinions but rather a look at important issues. Even many of your early topics were good just the way you would word them led to attacking you rather than discussing the topic. Glad to battle with you. Hang in there and see you next round. :boxing:
  18. Either you are that person or you or he stole this topic and posted on emt get a life. But don't matter its a timely topic. Oh and mobey thanks for making me itch.
  19. Heres a used ambulance that someone used for other purposes. It still has lights etc. So not really sure if you have to remove them to be legally able to use. Might be another state by state thing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1992-Ford-E...A1%7C240%3A1318
  20. I am so disappointed in you guys.
  21. Our new Type 1 ambulances all have hangers. We still hang even some in bad shape because only other choice is leave them. Thats not an option.
  22. You have protocols or guidelines so you are still following doctors orders. Yes you have to decide which approved medicine/procedure to perform but all are approved by your medical director prior to your performing them either online or offline. So yes you are following orders no matter how you word it. I agree more services need to implement patient transport denial protocols. Educate people by telling them no.
  23. Gives new meaning to the show must go on. There is no way to eliminate every risk in life. As high as this debris flew only way to stop it would be to watch on TV's with even happening some where else. Then the TV could have fallen and crushed the child. So what are you going to do? Live life and die or hide and die?
