  2. Patient as presented does not need an ambulance. Sorry Vent. It is not me being lazy. Thats say I get to this patient. I will do a full exam, wait no the nurses will not move. Well if you dial 911 she became my patient, so move. Still not move I ask patient do you want me to examine to see what we can do for you. No, or no not right now. Good bye we're back in service. Or if yes please. Move over nurse you heard the patient. Ok let me see, get complete HX, complete exam. So while you have major health problems those are not the concern tonight. Thats right you handsome young man. OK then with your only complaint and based on examination everything is basically normal for you I will have to recommend we assist you to the car for your husband to take you to the doctor. Ok thank you young man. Or for worse case I demand you take me. Sorry ma'am I have to advise you your not in an emergent state and we transport only emergent patients. If you would like we can assist you into your car. But you have to take me I am sick. Yes ma'am you need to see a doctor but do not require an ambulance, again please allow us to help you load into the car. At this point either we assist her into the car or we bid farewell and leave. Yes I am a handsome young man before you all jump on that. I will be polite, compassionate, professional but I will not be a taxi driver. If during the exam despite her complaint I discover something that indicates sepsis or other yes I will load her up. If I loaded just for the fever no way she goes anywhere but closest hospital. If upon exam again I find things that indicate she is actually suffering complications that would benefit from quicker access I would see if there was a way for mutual aid to come in and I would take her. You know I just can't resist someone calling me a handsome young man. OK ramble over for now.
  3. For personal use yes but expired drugs administered or stored in an ambulance a big no no.
  4. Just to get back on track. Look forward to details.
  5. To be safe call you state health department and make sure how they enforce expiration dates. In Texas if you have it on the ambulance the day after it expires you are fined.
  6. It expires at the end of the last day of the month listed if no date included. So 1/09 drugs are no good at 0000 of 2/09.
  7. Wasn't there another post on this? Or did it magically dissappear?
  8. Air Hockey What would you rather do climb Everest or swim to the deepest spot in the ocean?
  9. I say that would be a wonderful day to get back to people taking care of themselves except when it is a real emergency. Fine if some jobs are lost at least those left would actually be doing something besides being taxi drivers. But also honestly would not really impact revenue for the service as those BS callers insurance will not pay if they have it and the patient will not pay so actually the service would have more money because it would not be loosing so much on wasted taxi rides.
  10. LOL. Well it never ends.
  11. Well if the medics can't do the job in the service they are fired. Stay on top or get out. This is a scenatrio for education not to debate the crappy education some get. Either actually help the educational discussion or please do not post. Many procedures allowed and performed in my service are not at other but it is helpful for all to be familiar.
  12. But what is it and what causes it?
  13. Yes otherwise I would not have asked. Its treatment is in some paramedic protocals. It should be in all paramedic protocols. I do not want rapid transport for the answer I want details of what is wrong, possible causes and and in depth how to fix. The medical directors only restriction is do it if you have the balls to. Now somebody get started.
  14. Heres an overview. We hate this that or the other, yet others like this that or the other. Volly paid, fire :boxing: ems :happy1: Hope that helps.
  15. Sight as I could learn sign language and to read lips Who would you want to meet? Shannia Twain or Faith Hill?
  16. Wow. That is interesting. At least your presence gave family comfort.
  17. I use a pump and in case of pump failure we have dial a drips.
  18. We have and will allow a gun to be carried in the ambulance but it has to be locked up in the cabinet. It is not available for quick response by us or a mental patient. Even cops have to lock their gun in the cabinet when the ride or drive us. We are in a confined space and I can get to you faster than you can get a gun from the holster. If defense is needed in the ambulance we have had numerous topics about how to use just about every item in the ambulance to do the minimum in order to regain control.

  20. Don't forget tombstones in the yard. Boy 1 Boy 2 etc
  21. I am serious I sadly think even school age couples may need the above nowadays. Some have asked if I was joking, I am not. In this day and age trust no one. If they have nothing to hide they should not object.
  22. Whats that old saying? Oh now I recall. It's cheaper to keep her.
  23. According to some "pigs" that would make you more attractive as no long term commitment would be expected.
  24. -25 because itku2er liked it.
  25. But you can have a basically regular rhythm. It is the majorly irregular that can not have anything premature. In a basically regular rhythm I can reasonably expect another QRS at X but if another one shows up at L it is premature. Now if it shows up at Y it is still basically on time. See is that so hard? Wow I should teach this stuff.
