  1. He is not deserving of being ahead of a poor child just because he has money. The reason on a free list the child would be first on the list is the childs actions did not lead to the damage like the drunks actions did. In fact how many years before he's buying another one? I've heard rumors that they can cut your liver in half and both halves still work. Want to try it? Some rich person I'm sure will help you ease you pain. Might even help the chocolate cravings.
  2. But how would you know the doctor or broker was actually paying the patient or patients survivor, minus a reasonable fee. But what is a reasonable fee 95%? So fraud would be rampant and poor people would be murdered and butchered in the name of money so the rich could live. Screw the rich we poor folks need equal chance at the donated body parts. Why should my kiddo die because I am poor? Why should a rich drunk live because he has money? Give to the ones that it can do the most good for.
  3. Actually booze is still illegally brewed and sold. Also it is still illegally imported. Yes it is not as obvious as when prohibition but still out there.
  4. I just do not agree with placing them ahead of a poor person just because they have money. Their choices caused it. OK if no one else qualifys for that organ they can have it. No people would do it cheaper illegally, less restrictions and all. Honestly I would see people start having or adopting kids so they could make money selling there kids second kidney. Just to many ways for it to be abused. It would do more harm than good and keep those with no money where they would have 0% chance of getting transplants.
  5. I hate though that many debate the backboard issue they claim those against are just being lazy. I just do not want to cause more harm and discomfort if it is of no real value.
  6. LOL. Well except number 2 that could harm patients. I really do like #1 if partner is lazy, making sure report is right is just CYA.
  7. Exactly as mad as some get when we discuss denying transport they do not realize it is really a limited number of factors that we can deny. But it is still better than wasting resources acting as a taxi. I would like to establish guidelines to deny all transport for those with no need what so ever. Perhaps be able to take to a clinic those that do need medical care but not really needing an ER. Of course any protocol for the above will have to include a strong QA/QI to insure that it is being used correctly and not being abused.
  8. Oh I hate those spoon them out calls. Nasty.
  9. Describe Pericardial tamponade and its treatments. You work in an extremely aggressive system. Go deep.
  10. Wow give the EMT's nightmares. Good question for discussion though. I will let my peers handle it though.
  11. Works great. Probably toxic but pain relief is wonderful.
  12. Talk about acting unprofesional. sirduke to deceased family " Narly dude watch what happens when I do this to him"
  13. Yup combine that with the atomic fireball and you will not smell or taste the nasty.
  14. I don't care how much money if you destroyed your own and still live a bad life style I do not think you should be able to get transplant even with cash.
  15. I am studying protocols for denying transport to those that do not need transport. Any services with such a protocol please PM me with them. I am working on it to get it in my current full time service protocol book.
  16. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=4201900&page=1
  17. Bump as it is being discussed and I recalled this good discussion, if you ignore the crap that was made about the OP for not including source.
  18. Should they open the bottles first?
  19. There is black market in some 3rd world countrys already. Brokers get body parts and those with money buy them. The only loser is the one that lost the body parts at times even losing their lives.
  20. Actually I would not sell. If I knew the person I would give him the kidney as long as the cost incurred were covered, no way I can afford the surgery or time off work. If a stranger they would not know I was a match. Plus I would also have to consider the potential risks to my health and how it could affect my family. So would not sell to a stranger even. If I did it it would be as above.
  21. Actually in hot weather long sleeves and pants are better, but they should be light colored not this dark crap EMS seems to always choose. A study don't have it right now said it helped you cool more by slow evaporation rather than quickly losing all moisture if exposed.
  22. If they throw in the monkey with the organ grinder its a deal. If anyone gets money for the organ it should be the survivors not the hospital or some broker, but at the same time money leads to crime. "Root of all Evil is the love of money".
  23. It is frustrating the way days like that go. I have always wondered how they know the patient got any meds and not the medic? No one witnesses except the wasting and how do they know your not wasting NS instead of MS? I hate thinking about it because I have control of this and several other controlled substances. Yet it is my word and my reputation at stake. No way to prove anything short of piss test, I guess. Sorry for rambling.
  24. Heck its Brits. At least their organs are finally able to do some good once out of the country.  Actually I think selling organs should be illegal. And first come first served common sense would say should be the way. But then if it happened that my kiddo needed a part I would think differently and would try anything possible to get them to the first on the list. You can not blame those with the means for trying to help their familys but it is sad that people with nothing, like us, suffer. Really a screwed up system. Sorry for rambling.
