  1. New York, get a rope. We don't like Yankees down in our parts. Ok welcome the site. What part of Texas are you wanting? City or Rural?

    My Rodeo Vent

Bulls are not eaten usually. Young steers are. Bulls are left equipped so they can breed your cows. Rodeos are a dignified professional sport. Only real men would ever attempt. But sounds like you aussies don't have that level of rodeo there.
  3. Minimum amount of force necessary to gain control. That rule even applys to us in EMS if assaulted. Criminals understand that to. When in LE if someone hollered camera on scene, the criminal who had been beating the hell out of the officers would just drop so the camera would only catch the officers appearing to beat the poor innocent helpless criminal. It is hard to turn off after you have been fighting and have adrenalin flowing but you must. So can a person that did not see what really happen make an accurate judgement? No unless like was brought up a broomstick, but even that could have been self inflicted.
  4. So now do you see that you need to read the bible? You probably don't even recall the mention of the first baseball game do you? ( Genesis 1:1 ) Darn Yankees can't get anything right.
  5. LOL. It is weird that ambulances have to meet standard KKK - XXXXXXXXXX. Never knew the Klan had such control of the industry.
  6. But Bledsoes book is the Brady book. They publish his book. Or was it in a different Brady textbook?
  7. OK you bill and guess what patient files it in the trash and nothing you can really do about it. Since you transported you can bet next time their favorite is on the menu you will transport again to. Caller was just educated that yes you get free taxi rides in ambulances. Cycle of abuse worsens as they tell their friends and it just becomes an even greater epidemic.
  8. I'll never tell.
  9. I do not have curent information, sorry. I do think this will be good for our profession.
  10. Hospitals are in trouble, so are we. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/12/27/ap5862170.html[web:59113446fc]http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/12/27/ap5862170.html[/web:59113446fc]
  11. OK since I am against horse play here is just one example of why. I will not state the practical joke details but will say it was done a bunch. One thing went wrong. One medic broke wrist. Could not work. If filed workers comp filed would have been fired for horseplay as against written but not enforced policy, as I'm sure it is in writing at most services. Medic ended up out of work with no income until healed up. They suffered out of pocket medical expenses, their family suffered because loss of income and medical bills. So for a minutes laugh what was the real cost? I have seen similar more than once and often they appeared to be harmless pranks. I do not get into horse play. Yes I will sit and joke with people, but no physical acts as I can not afford to support another family if a joke goes bad.
  12. I agree this time age of equipment does not seem to be the issue. Either driver error or a blind/bad intersection caused this accident.
  13. Hey I've been there. OK probably not that exact one but we have several like that here on the border. As far as blood thinner does she use vanilla from Mexico? Best tasting vanilla anywhere but it is diluted with blood thinner, so if they use it very much it will not clot no matter what you do. Glad you got her and the boy to a safe place at least for a night.
  14. Does Alaska now have the highest percentage of accredited Paramedic programs since they are at 50%? I just hope the lobbyist don't win and stop the accreditation process.
  15. I am sorry for this familys extreme loss. Sounds like from multiple sources that they pulled ambulance out in front of car. Who knows what factors may have been in play that led to this error? But are we careful no matter how tired? Do we drive distracted? Really this article should lead to good discussion of driving habits not an attack on the crew of this particular ambulance. If you are not one of the crew on that ambulance you can not make a direct statement about the wreck, but you can discuss possibilitys. Poll is to get you to think about your habits, do you rely on first glance, etc? http://www.heralddemocrat.com/hd/News/A1-2...y-Christmas-Day Updated Thursday, December 25, 2008 7:37 PM MARY JANE FARMER / HERALD DEMOCRAT Shreveport family perished in a two-vehicle accident. Bonham fatality Christmas Day BY MARY JANE FARMER HERALD DEMOCRAT LEONARD -- A Shreveport family perished Christmas morning in a two-vehicle accident that also injured two men with the Bonham Fire Department. Pronounced dead were Pamela Kay Touart, 59, and her twin sons, Cameron Wayne Boudreau and Kipp Leonard Boudreau, 29 years old. According to Leonard Police Officer Kim Dillard, the wreck happened at 6:05 a.m., at FM 981 and U.S. Highway 69. Her report stated that the EMS crew had responded to an emergency near FM 981, but it was one not requiring a patient to be taken by ambulance to a hospital. So, Dillard said, the men were headed back to their Leonard station. The ambulance, a 1995 model, was driven by EMT Ronald Van Ryan and also occupied by paramedic Cory King. Dillard said the ambulance traveled north on FM 981 until it came to the U.S. 69 intersection, where the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was headed north on the way to Madill, Okla. "It appears that the EMS ambulance pulled up to the stop sign at U.S.. 69," Dillard explained. "They began to pull out and turn left and the driver failed to see the approaching Chevrolet." The Chevrolet's front left side hit the ambulance in the passenger side door. Both vehicles traveled to the north side of the road and left the pavement. The ambulance came to rest in a ditch laying on its right side. Dillard said the Chevrolet came to a rest on the inside of a private fence in the same area. Bonham Fire Chief Bill Palya said that after the EMS men called in the wreck, another of their ambulances, which was returning from a Dallas run, was only five minutes away and answered the call for help. That ambulance took Van Ryan and King to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, where they were treated and later released, Palya said. The Chevrolet occupants were all pronounced dead at the scene by Fannin County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Joe Dale. He had all three's bodies sent to the Dallas Medical Examiners Office. Dillard said the family has been notified and has been in touch with Leonard police. First responders also included Trenton firefighters and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. Palya said that all indications from first responders are that none of the deceased had been wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. 16. Actually in my area there are a number of competent medics that will not work EMS because they make more money elsewhere. So the reason we have openings is low pay not shortage of medics that some claim.
  17. Wow. That should be on Ripley's believe it or not if true. Umm I think I am supposed to keep inserting till I get major resistance then shove hard. There thats it.
  18. I love how the young people always say age is just a number. Seems certain older people with interests in younger people say that to.
  19. Want to see my current gripes join me at the end of nowhere. http://www.emtcity.com/phpBB2/weblog.php?w=554
  20. Hey I'm for fun just have seen the consequences of fun gone bad a few times to many. So I am much more cautious about what I allow. But who knows what this whole topic is about anyway. Be safe out there.
  21. Wow we have to spell out everything for you don't we. Smart aleck.
  22. See that there is funny w/o risking any harm , well unless you taped it to the rotors.
  23. Check with a professional. There are so many variables involved that could make you eligible or ineligible that any thing we say might be true in one persons case but not in yours. When I was a volly I never even considered trying for a tax break though, as I was not looking for any benefit for myself, not that its wrong just saying. But be careful whose advice you take as it could bite you in the butt.
  24. Another reason I do not like to be the first to try new products. I hope it turns out they were wrong about it causing the clots, and then find it can save lives.
  25. Crotch looks like you are not a man of your word. You said we had a break from you till 2009. :?
