In any case that was the first and last time I watch the program. Think I get more out of reading civil war and revolutionary war files than watching TV!!!!

I believe in order to get rid of the bees, you first have to get rid of the hive. This building, is it essential to your living? You have tried all sorts of removal and other techniques, your getting rid of some of the bees, but not all, you have to ride the place of the hive. One or two ways to do so, tear into the building and completely clean out the hive, it could be massive or give your local fire department some free training and have it burned down, that alone will rid the place of the hive. Most generally you don't want to destroy honey bees, but when they become a nusance you have to do something radical.

First off, it cannot be that simple. But wait there must be more to it. Like when the dye was injected, immediately after the injury, dose of course, length of time before results etc. Blue mice, smoo mice. We already have blue people. They are called the Blue people of Tennessee. They have an anomoly in their blood that gives them a blue hue.

Way back when, they used kerosene as a cough remedy. My mother and her ten brothers and sisters had whooping cough, this was in the 1920's, and the Dr. gave them a couple of drops of kerosene in a teaspoon of sugar to soothe the cough. The other remedy they used to was EAT Vicks Vapo Rub.

Reckless Driving/DUI and becoming an EMT
Cookie replied to Clarkw75's topic in General EMS Discussion
Here in Iowa when you register to take the EMT Classes, regardless of the level, they do a search for any and all driving violations, accidents, dui, felonies, whatever. One person in our class 30 years ago got into trouble with the law and he got probation, he had to go back to the origional state and county and get copies of all records, court and probation to show he had completed everything. He then, because he is in good standing with local law enforcement, got a letter from the Sheriff himself as to his good standing as a citizen of the county, other wise he would not have become the EMT P he is today. So many people do not realize how a DUI, and or reckless driving can affect a future job. But it does. Not only if one has to drive, but it also proves poor judgement on the individuals part. Call the state department of health or whatever regulatory agency in the state you live and see what they have to say. The elite members of this forum are in the know and are not sugar coating their words when they tell you that you may have a big problem. Every call we have on the interstate I worry about that one driver who really is not paying attention or had just a couple of beers and goes whizzing by everyone and rolling right up the ass of our ambulance endangering no only my life and those of the crew but the patient as well. -
I recently got Bambi's daddy with a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. We have so many deer here in Iowa it isn't funny. There is one area near here that is a small 180 acres part in trees., part in grass and cropland and the deer population in there is about 40 to 50. We do find them dead and not from being shot but for the fact that disease, age and lack of food takes its toll. They also litter the highways and so do some of the cars that hit them.

Most of the time I drive a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis, with all the bells and whistles. Other times I drive the 2008 Ford SuperDuty King Ranch duelly pickup. Depends on where I am going and who is going.

Now don't shoot me. I am not siding with anyone on this. This was a terrible accident in which there were seven people involved. I am thinking triage. Who gets treated first in a triage situation? Who is last?

Check with the local colleges who offer the EMT courses and see if they have any continuing education classes in the offering. Continuing Education hours is an ongoing thing. I just recertified in Iowa in March. I have already attended classes offering CE hours, and I will continue to do so right up to the recertification date. That way I have it done and more than needed and avoid this scenario.

We went from balmy 70's down to the 40's yesterday. Winds were gusting upwards of 50mph. Then things got interesting. We had a semi truck blown nearly on top of an overpass over railroad tracks. This overpass is quite high and has steep embankments. The long and short of it is, it took nearly an hour and 45 minutes to cut him free of the truck. He was pinned between the steering wheel and column and the seat. The truck was laying pretty much on the drivers side, twisted so he was in an awkard position. Stabilizing the truck, trailer on the bank with two firetrucks and a farmers tractor we commensed to cutting apart the inside of the cab. After getting him out and to the hospital where they immediately had arrangements made to transport him to a Level I trauma center, all hell broke loose. More semi trucks blown over near Lincoln, Nebraska, which is west of us here, a tornado in Eagle Nebraska, torrential downpour where I live, tornados near Red Oak Iowa, which is east of me, and Stanton Iowa east of Red Oak. Sheds, roofs, and trees down locally. Not one life lost, and minimul injuries as far as I know. Now this weeked we are to get snow!

We had a local sheriffs deputy steal some equiptment from a local fire department and put it up for sale on Ebay. He probably would have gotten away with it, except one of the phone numbers he listed happened to be the Sheriffs office, and when a potential buyer called the number the Sheriff himself picked up the phone, and as they say the rest is history. YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID

I know that in Iowa that if a person knowingly had aids and continues to have sexual relations with another person and fails to inform the other person of the condition he or she has, they will be arrested and tried for it, and go to jail, if found guilty. I am not sure which law they use for this, but needless to say they spend a good share of their life or what is left behind bars. I do not think its WMD or terrorism.

Two occasions that I remember, people that we took to the hospital came back and thanked us personally. The one we took a hospital 60 miles away that has a cath lab, and the premier heart Doctors for this area. He told me four hours after we got him there he underwent quadruple by pass surgery. It's humbling and gratifying to know someone appreciates our services and make the effort to tell you in person.
