traffic light controls in ur cities
emt-b_wa replied to tunnelrat83's topic in Equiqment and Apparatus
The department that I Work for has an Opticom system on the medic unit its a simple strobe that has been placed after market on the unit. This is sad because we only have one light in our town. even if we have to transport to Olympia there are only 3 other lights and only one responds to the opticon. -
I can only get to 29. There's no way the high scores are right

Thank you now that gives me a better idea on what could have een going on I will have to keep those ideas in mind.

Good luck dust and thank you -
The other day i was driving priority to a MVA I was going pretty fast about 85 on a 65 road i had a state patrol car pull up behind me and ride my butt with his lights going so i figured if he wanted to go faster id go in the right lane and let him around but he pro ceded into the right lane so i got back in the left and pro ceded to the call. He then ran up to me and yelled at me to stop and began yelling at me for speeding. WTF It was a nasty wreck and we were the first unit on scene. After pt care i graped the Sargent and the officer and the officer told me he should write me a ticket for wreck less driving for going that fast and the Sargent flipped out on the officer.

OK oh many people actually hummed the alphabet song and twinkle twinkle?

Int resting I did a BP on both arms and they were about 10 points difference. Also my medic didn't see anything unusual on the monitor however she did not do a 12 lead
-
being of only a lowly BLS stature right know but working on an ALS unit I still would not feel comfortable using this device. Spend the extra 30 seconds to put the monitor on the pt.

On the topic of blood pressure. I had a pt. yesterday that we were called for a syncopel episode. The report was given that her BP was 210/112 HR 74 supine, 160/92 HR 72 sitting, and when stood up after approx. 15sec she experienced syncope. A BP was taken immediately and it was 60/p HR 74. Now I understand that Pt's. can be orthostatic and one of the biggest causes of that is dehydration but that typically presents with a change in heart rate. Right?? What else can cause this problem. She presented with no other complaints, Resp rations were 16 and she was a healthy looking 68 y/o female with no real medical hx.Any ideas?

We need something like that here. We had a MCI the other day with five pts and we were running tight for ambulances. We had plenty of staff but all five ambulances from a sixty mile radius we would be in trouble if there was another cal. There is one ambulance left that isn't in service but it could be in a pinch. And with transports lasting about 65 mins to get back into the area. Something like that centrally located in our county would be a great benefit

OK i guess i have to admit I must be a wanker. I am frequently in my uniform because a work 15 days a month. I always have my pager on when home for the VFD I'm with and i have 4 or 5 fire or ems shirts. However no light bars, stickers ect.. I do however have my own jump bag because I live out in the sticks and have calls between my house and the dept. So I'm a card carrying member of the wanker club
