Just wanted to let folks know that Michigan has a new education grant for healthcare workers who want to upgrade their certifications. It's called the Regional Healthcare Initiative, and you need to go to a Michigan Works office to apply for it. It will help ANY healthcare worker (CNA, EMT, Medic, RN, Radiology tech, etc.) upgrade to a higher level of certification. I know several medics who are going for their RN's with this. Goodness knows that we could all use a boost with the economy taking a tank in this state.
There is also the No Worker Left Behind program that some EMT-B's may qualify for. Most medics make too much to fit into the program.
