Finally someone coming here and really doing a fine job of introducing themselves and outlining what their study is for. NOt like the last person who asked and then never came back to answer our questions of what they needed the questions for. I'll go and look and probably answer.

I've always wanted to say that. My old english professor who i loved to death, she was every bit of the stereotypical english professor would say that after nearly every old author we studied, "Shakespeare, English Lit My Ass" but in the very best old English accent you can imagine.

i've got to say that with the soldier adamantly denying the sexual activity that would have crossed illegal abortion off my list and I would not have pursued that line of questioning any further and still have transported her and let the ER deal with it. I would have also told the ED when they asked me the question about what I thought was wrong with her I would have told them "I don't have a bloody clue, that's what I brought her to you to figure out" which is why they have the Ultrasounds and all that fancy labs, xrays and all that other megadollar equipment that has yet to grace the insides of the ambulances yet in the convenient Dr. McCoy tricorder sized boxes. There was no way we were going to guess a botched abortion in a million years.

Well what you can do with the degree you are getting is to come here to this site and teach most of those here, myself included, a lesson on grammar or two. English lit my ass.

ok, What you need to do and this goes for anyone. You need to have the information on the online program in your hand. Then call your bureau of EMS and ask them directly when you call them. They are your source of truth. I am waiting on an email from my state. If my state says "yep, we accept them" then I'll consider using them for my last relicensure.

REmember the movie quote "Be afraid, be very afraid" well you might want to be. I would contact the AHA And ask them directly if that online pals and acls course will actually meet the true qualifications for the AHA. My bet is that they won't. My bet is that the only thing that that online course will meet for you is that they will guarantee you that you will be parted with your money and they will cash your check. Don't risk it until you have all the answers. Too much for you is at stake as well as anyone else who find themselves in your shoes. I went to the website and looked at their FAQ's Nothing referring to the AHA at all. Here was the only question relating to accreditation What is your accreditation status? A: Our courses are endorsed by the North American Medical Certification Committee of Advisors (NAMCCA). NAMCCA was created with the purpose of setting a precident for online medical certification courses by ensuring they uphold current medical guidelines that are accepted through traditional offline teaching. To me this speaks volumes - they are accredited by the NAMCAA but not the AHA. This is a HUGE RED FLAG. I even sent them a question regarding the AHA info and I will post that answer I get from them as soon as I get them. I'm guessing that this is an organization that contracts with facilities that want to train their workers in bulk the information taught in pals and ACLS but want a cut rate to do it. They get the same or (less than same) amount of material that is given by the AHA and they don't require their employees to have AHA cards. My suspicions are that these companies are places like nursing homes, long term care facilties and other places. I can't guarantee that but my gut tells me that this is what it's like. Plus reading what they have as their highlights. They say that their materials are crafted (love that word) after the 2012 AHA materials. Sounds like they have written their own materials and picked and chosen what they want to teach. Plus if you pay an extra 39.00 you can have your card in one day although if you take a AHA Course you can actually get your own card on the same day you take the class. But for 39.00 you get your card the same day. The only mention of the AHA in any of this sites materials is that it mentions crafting the materials after the AHA guidelines. I'm really worried that people who are gullible might choose this site to gain their recert or certification in ACLS (that's this sites words for it) and spend all their money on these classes and get shafted in the end. But then again, maybe they are legit.

My suspicion is that she probably won't come back because she didn't hear what she wanted to hear but I hold out some form of hope that we might see her back. I'd like to hear it actually from the horses mouth and not the filtered down version though. Maybe the boyfriend might come and grace us with is presence but I hold less hope than that though. WE shall see.

If it wasn't even a misdemeanor then it has to have been a felony right? Because I don't think there's anything else right? Misdemeanor or felony. I mean there might be a administrative thing but 2 years suspension of a drivers license is pretty harsh for an administrative thing.

Have you checked the machine on multiple other people? That reading may have been an anomaly on that patient only. I would do a control on two or three of your machines. Test it on your department members documenting the readings. If this suspect machine is the only machine showing off whack readings then send it to the manufacturer for repair or recalibration. If it's showing consistent high CO readings for all your staff then call physio and ask them what could be causing it.

AND If you are a student Do not wait till the last minute to get into a cpr class. I did a search in my 4 county area and found no less than 30 AHA classes coming up in the next 30 days - so do the math. Of those classes, only 4 days are without classes out of those 30. There is no excuse to not be able to find a cpr class that will fit into anyone's busy schedule. If you let yours lapse and you have to lose a few shifts until you get your's renewed then it's NO-one's fault other than your OWN.

Thus lies our suspicion that there is much much more to this situation that just underage drinking.

A job that requires driving and you are questioning whether having a suspended drivers license will have an impact on getting a job? Um I really don't know how to answer that question, I'm going to have to go with YEP he will find it very hard to find a job. My suspicions, and they are just suspicions, but if I was a hiring manager but I ran your boyfriends driving record and saw the suspension and then ran a background check and saw that it was for underage drinking then I would put your boyfriends application on the bottom of the pile of applications. No wait, I did just that when I was part of the hiring process at a EMS system in the KC MO area. I think that your boyfriend is going to have a very very hard time getting hired as an emt driver. Very very hard might be a relatively light term. He could get hired on with a company that all they want is someone who will fill out the uniform and have a pulse but I'm sure that he doesn't to work for a service like that does he. Or maybe he just wants a job. But if he wants to work for someplace that means something, well, they probably don't want to hire him due to his past suspension and conviction. So best advice I can give him is to go directly to paramedic school, pass go, collect 200 and a paramedic license. But to get a job as a emt with his history is a pipe dream in my opinion.

Look at it this way, she won't remember any of this and be glad that she won't because she wont' be able to hold this over her parents head. There will be plenty of other stuff to hold over their heads but not this.
