  1. Ok, I'm trying to move like Jagger and I just realized I've been doing it all wrong, I've been trying to move like George Jacob Jagger of 31450 North Johnson Street of North Alberquerque New Mexico and not Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. NO WONDER why I have been having such problems.

  2. So just why were they in dresses? Where they driving the fire trucks? and if they were driving the fire trucks just why were they driving the fire trucks in dresses? I'm confused. If these dresses are department issued, do they get to pick out the colors and if they get to pick out the colors, do they get to pick out whether the dresses are frilly or just plain chiffon. do they get high heels or flats. Chime in Fireguys. What kind of dresses are you gonna pick when you are notified that your new department issued uniforms also include prom dresses? I thnk this is a good look for the fire departments. Instead of the boring old yellow and brown bunker gear you can now choose from hot pink and fire engine red dresses. It's about time the fire service got into the 21st century at least in terms of fashion sense. I can see it now, America's next top Fire fighter model. Hosted by Tyra "Smokey" Banks Judges Simon "Knuckle dragger" Powell Randy "Yo Dawg" Jackson Stephen "Light me up" Tyler Jennifer "Flame on" Lopez And commentary by none other than Ryan "Burn me out" Secrest
  3. If you was here right now, I'd talk bootheel mizery to ya and you'd not know how to respond mr kiwi. Actually I'd talk Kansouri to you and you'd be really confused. It's my own special dialect that cannot be translated to computer. It's a spoken dialect only.
  4. I'll bet she's on the forefront of making those new drugs that makes my life as a diabetic easier????? or maybe makes the life of a CHf''r easier Or maybe she's making a new Propofol so Michael Jackson won't kill himself again because I distinctly believe I saw him get out of his coffin when they played the song Thriller at his funeral. (I digress) But seriously What does a chemist do In the olden day's a chemist was one who was a pharmacist and mixed the drugs at the drug store. My next door neighbor worked at the local pharmacy and he was the chemist there who did all the compounding of the drugs at his pharmacy. He was kept pretty busy since he was the only one in our small town who actually compounded the drugs. He was paid quite handsomely as well. I guess it was hard to hire people to do that in a town of 9000 people.
  5. Yeah, before we volunteer to be guinea pigs for a interview we need a bit more info. What kind of class? What is the interview about? Is it a psych class or sociology What are you hoping to get out of the class. Your name and a bit about what your are hoping to get from us would be a good start as well. We don't need a dissertation but before any of us give you answers you have to at least give us a clue as to who you are and why you need this info. Your first post is 4 questions but not a single introduction point from you. You have to do better than that to get much from us. Step up to the plate, introduce yourself and tell us who you are, what you want the answers to your questions and why, and you will find that you will get answers in droves. It's a two way street here.
  6. come on youze guyze, your getting a bit off topic here now.
  7. My nephew had this problem. He had the surgery, had all the tubes and drains and all that. He did Just fine. He's now 10 years old. He's the best baseball and basketball player. Sure your week was hell. Your grandson's week was worse. Look into the future and see a 10 year old grandson and think to yourself, he's gonna be fine. You know it all works out in the end. I will say a little prayer for you, your family and especially your little grandbaby for a quick healing. Hang in there, in 6 weeks you will look back and say, wow, did this really happen???
  8. I dont know but she sure is much nicer to look at than dwayne.. Welcome
  9. . You mean kiwiland and Nigeria right
  10. I'm opening the floor for suggestions. Most if not all suggestions will be considered. I'll put the top 3 up for a vote but of course, I make the final decision and my son has already put his suggestion in and that suggestion will make it's appearance very soon. suggestions will run for one week. Good luck. Personal note to Kiwi - I can't imagine you not putting a suggestion or two in on this one.
  11. Aussieaid, i couldn't have treated these two better myself. I don't think Id' have added a thing other than instead of trying to look for a vein, I'm probably going to go for the IO first. I'll look for 30 seconds but after that it's IO time.
  12. For a bear of very little brain (anyone know the reference) I do have good ideas sometimes. Plus the classifieds are free.
  13. Ok, this has gone on long enough. I think it's time that we let this baby just cry itself to sleep. Each time that Hippa or HIPAA or Hipaa or HipAA or however anyone decides to spell it, everyone knows what you are talking about. I think that we need to move on and let this one go to sleep and if we leave it alone it will sleep until someone has another HIPAA question. Nighty night. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.
  14. Dwayne, couldn't you move it to the classifieds?
  15. Wow, the NFL was serious about their penalties in the bounty for hits program that some of the teams had going on. Some coaches are suspended indefinately, others are suspended for a year and others are suspended for part of the season. The Saints lost their 2nd and third round draft picks for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Sounds like one team is getting hit really hard. I'll bet there are more teams to follow. But you know, I don't really feel sorry for those teams and any players that p...

  16. All I can say is this - DANGIT

  17. ok, let's see what our resident kiwitraumatologiststaffconsultoxygenthief has to say about that.
  18. Would you stop encouraging him Doc.
  19. Why not just say F D N Y say it slowly F D N Y don't have to make it hard, it's not rocket science, it's so easy a caveman can do it. Why do we have to make things so difficult these days. we have alphabet lists for everything these days. Just say F D N Y But if you want to be obstinate and say FIDNEE go ahead. Jeesh but if you need instructions on how to say jeesh then I can't help you there.
  20. Tried to go to amazon and got an error. It still appears that I am pledged to support but it won't go to amazon. PM me and I will give you my private email and if you reach your goal I'll fire over the money.
  21. Oh by all means they should be able to take care of DKA as well as a myriad of other complaints in the adult patient. I hope that you didn't think I was arguing with you on that at all. If I was driving down the road in a unfamiliar area and started to suffer from a low blood sugar (which I have IDDM), and I came upon a pediatric facility and didn't know where the nearest adult facility was, I'd stop at the peds facility and request medical help. A hospital is a hospital. But I know that once I'm stable I'm heading to the appropriate facility to take care of me. So no I wasn't arguing wit ya at all either. Every hospital should be able to take care of anyone in the beginning stages of a life threatening illness and then get them to the appropriate facility. Just because the hospital has Children's in it's name really makes no difference to the patient.
  22. Watching the Hugh Laurie special on PBS filmed in New Orleans. I don't necessarily like Jazz but I'll give him a chance since there is nothing else on over 65 other channels. So for his first number he's playing a pretty fast paced version of Swaney River (forgive the spelling) He's pretty good. I'll give him a chance.

  23. It depends on the Peds facility cut off for age. I believe in KC MO the cut off for Peds at Children's Mercy is 18 but it may be older if the patient is an established patient there. Children's National Medical Center will more than likely not take this mother but they will be happy to tell you to go next door with her as Medstar Health has a perfectly good hospital for adults right next door and it's only 25 seconds of an eta lesss. So more than likely any pediatric specific facilty will NOT take a non-established adult patient except in specific circumstances. I would suspect some of those would be but not inclusive of medical conditions that occur inside the hospital that require prompt intervention in the hospital, falls outside on the ground of the peds facility, cardiac arrest outside or inside the ped facility and other non-defined reasons. But to walk in to the hospital and request to be seen in the ER of the ped facility, sure they will find you a bed, do a quick medical screening and then put you in an ambulance and take you to a facility that can appropriately manage your ADULT medical complaint.
  24. I think without having your records in front of any of us we aren't going to be able to make any sound judgements. I for one don't think you were having a panic attack or anything of the sort. But I wasnt' there nor were any of us so I think trying to armchair quarterback a cryptic call from 2010/11 is pretty tough to do. We also don't know what that tube or whatchamacallit/hoozit they had you breathing into was we will never know unless it's the center of a tootsie roll pop and then the world only needs to watch the owl bite into the tootsie roll pop and we all will know. But I digress. You seemed to fare well from your illness and coming here seems to have provided some sort of closure although maybe not the closure you wished for.
  25. Yeah I've just never heard it called a schnauzer. I've heard called a hoo haw but not a schnauzer.
