  1. Brown and Croupon voted the Winningest lawfirm in Missouri. And they also drink Tiger's Blood. Winning Winning. And don't forget, they have 3 Super Lawyers.

  2. Each superbowl halftime show gets worse every year. But I have a craving to luv madonna now. Anyone else have that craving?

  3. And he's the only one who knows what the technique is for improvising a spacer from a different thread.
  4. I don't think the original poster has a technique, he was probably trolling for ways to justify why his service shouldn't have to purchase spacers as a cost cutting measure.
  5. If you see some integrity running around without an owner, it probably belongs to the Komen Foundation.

  6. You should tell the person what you are seeing and let them know that if you are seeing it then others are as well. But it's really the persons business how they profess their faith. Are the students in your class actually counseling patients? IF so then they need to put their beliefs away but if this is strictly from your reading their facebook page then what they say there might just be what they say there and they won't put it in practice. There was a recent court case where a student in a counselling program was expelled from it for her religious beliefs and she sued and won. So the courts ruled that she had the right to her religious beliefs and the school/program illegally forced her out. I would just have a heart to heart discussion with her, womano to womano and let her know what you are seeing. But to base this fear off her facebook page and not talk to her directly is kind of the wrong way to go about it. I know you Wendy, you will do what is right. Maybe the person's calling is to be a christian counselor. But if they are going to be counselling people in a state run or non-religious practice then that could be a problem but that's way down the road right?
  7. Whos gonna watch the movie Groundhog Day today?

  8. plastic cup with bottom cut out(hole big enough to fit the inhaler in) and put it up to the patients mouth and nose, make a seal and then push the inhaler. Then have the patient breath deeply.
  9. It's the toughest job you'll ever love. NO wait that's the army. The job isn't really that tough. Takes a good head on your shoulders and if you want to be a truly incredible provider then it's tough. But to just do the job, it's not truly that tough.
  10. fisthisshit that is sooooooooooooooooo funny I took a screenshot for posterity.
  11. Near 70 degrees today, maybe there is sumthin to this mumbo jumbo they call global warming!!!!!!!!! Nah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Just where did you get that understanding from his posts? I don't see him as terrified of every stiff he hauls. Care you explain your comments? Just asking as I didn't read any of that into any of his replies on this thread.
  13. Yeah I hear you on the experience but if the patient died then you would be just as liable as the medic. Think about it this way, think about it in a coutroom Witness - you - plaintiff's attorney "When did you realize that something was wrong with the patients airway" You 'about two minutes after the patient was loaded into the ambulance" Plaintiff "Why did you not intervene with this patient?" You - "I didn't because I thought my medic had it covered" Plaintiff "but when you realized that your medic did not have it covered, why didn't you intervene" You - "I didn't intevene because I was afraid of what my medic partner would do to me, because he has so much more experience than me and my certification is less than his" Plaintiff "so you were afraid of what your partner woudl do to you for touching his patient yet you let this patient suffer and in the end this patient suffered real irreparable harm. *Insert whatever long term medical effects the patient might have suffered* " You "Well when you put it that way, I should have grown a pair and intervened (your words not mine) " Plaintiff "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please find for my client in the amount of $XXXXXXX.00" And the jury would have done just that. I know how hard it is to butt heads against a more seasoned and higher certified "professional" is and lord knows I've been there as well but you aren't accountable to your partner in this situation. You are accountable to the patient and you have already said that you didn't advocate for the patient in this instance so this is your chance to truly learn from this situation and try not to let it happen again. Thanks for having the cojone's to come forward and ask for opinions on this. It's tough to do here sometimes.
  14. ok, yesterday I thought that a contract was local. The hospital names are very similar and when the boss said "Childrens" I took it as Childrens Mercy. WEll it's actually Children's National in Washington DC. Can't think of a better place to bring my kids up for an educational vacation as well as seeing some of the most famous places in the world. It will all work out and wherever I go is where I go.

  15. May have a contract by end of week and best of all it will be local.

  16. Just who determines that canned dog food tastes like filet mignon??????

  17. On the bench for an unknown period of time.

  18. I think that all medics need to be medics for a minimum of a year before they go off on some idealistic crusade and become Critical care medics. Or at least that's what we tell our budding emt students in a not so different way right? I'd be curious as to the opinions of the group - brand new paramedic - should they be going out and getting their CCEMTP or wait to get some experience under their belts?
  19. And another one drops out. So we have Bachman, Huntsman and now Perry. Who's next. I'll bet after this saturday depending on the numbers, that Newt is the next to go? I was completely right about the order of the first three to go. Am I right about the next?

  20. Welcome Jon Good luck in your education endeavors
  21. Hence why you should inflate with a 10cc syringe to start. Would it be a good idea if EMS systems would purchase a cuff pressure monitor for intubations?
  22. Apparantly when the iconic statue of Saddam was toppled a UK soldier took a 2 pound chunk of the statue home. It was part of Saddam's statue's butt. Here's the story. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/01/17/iraq-demands-uk-soldier-return-piece-saddam-husseins-buttock/?intcmp=obinsite
  23. Echoing Mike there. I got my bachelors then 10 years later I went for my masters. After 37K in debt over 2 years I now have a job that pays pretty darn good. My investment was 37K and I'm realizing a return on investment of about 75% above what I was making without the Masters. It required a change in careers full time but it was worth it.
  24. I wonder what the ramifications of a leaky cuff are? I'd be interested to see if not having a good cuff seal has any types of detrimental long term effects on a patient. Just thinking out loud.
