No injuries to the other driver, then no stay. But I wouldn't be surprised if that driver you leave at the scene doesn't miraculously come down with some neck pain or something. At the time you have no injuries to the driver of the car but that can easily change. I would still leave the patient and head to the hospital. As a matter of fact, both of you, not just your partner can return to the accident scene. Then you can transport that suspicious neck pain that the driver will develop by the time you return. I would not delay transport of this critical patient if you don't have any injuries to the other car's driver. That's bad juju.

So what happens to providers when their equipment fails. Waht about that catastrophic failure where all the battery powered devices fail? What are your steps now. You have no battery powered equipment!!!

Come on, aren't we all slaves to the machines? I mean when you get out of EMT school you are like a sheep and you follow what your machine tells you right? Machine tells you low pulse ox, slap em on oxygen. Machine tells you it looks like v-fib or asystole you go ahead and get ready to code em, even before you check a pulse Your d-stick machine says "low" but the patient is talking to you. so drop an amp of D-50 down the iv tubing. I mean we all are slaves to the machines and we might as well be assimilated NOW instead of later.

I wanted to discuss something I read early on. AS to appropriate behaviour at Gay Pride events. I went to the Gay parade in the Keys a couple of years ago, not because I knew it was that weekend but because I wanted to visit the end of Highway 1. I was able to get a hotel room but only because I am a Hilton Diamond member so I am able to bump people from their reservations due to my level of status at the hotel chain. So as I watched this parade, I saw a lot of scantily clothed women and men as well as every other thing you can imagine. I saw men with no clothes on with body paint, others being led around by leashes and all that you can imagine goes on in those parades. Why if it isn't acceptable for us to dress like that on the other 364 days of the year is it acceptable to dress like that on this one day. And I assure you that inappropriate dressing in and around the keys is not just a gay pride parade day phenom. but I didn't see many straight (read NONE) people dressing like these people did on the day of the parade nor on any other day. Why is it appropriate for someone to go out in public dressed like they wer ein the parade yet it isn't acceptable any other time? I mean if those people are trying to get acceptance for their lifestyle, why do they shoot themselves in the collective foot or Ass and hurt their cause by going out in public dressed like they do in the parades. My best gay friend says that he is all for equal rights for "gays and lezbos"(his words not mine) but he is totally against the gay pride parade. I asked him if he felt that those types of parades do anything to advance the gay rights agenda and he said no, these people are just disgusting and DO NOT REPRESENT ME. I put the caps in there to emphasize his reaction when we talked about this the other day. He said those who march in those parades have set back the gay rights crusade to the very beginning.

I've been around many gays yet have not gained their accent, so it can't rub off on me or something like that, OR Can it?????

There is no doubt in my mind that my GAYDAR would fire in all sides if I met you but that makes no difference as to whether I would like or dislike you. To me Gay people are just that, people.

I don't believe that explanation, if that was the case then I'd have a southern drawal accent with equal parts mid-westerner yet I've been told that I have a singular mid-western accent. And my friend James who is as gay a flamer that he is would be more flamboyant but he isn't. He speaks with a chicago accent and not a hint of gay accent. The black guys I've worked with have spoken quite well yet grew up in the hood of central KC MO all the while I'm sure they were talking ghetto or "black speak" but they don't talk that way now. You are saying that it's learned? By equal parts it can be unlearned I guess.

So let me ask this. AS for the Gay accent. Just how do you Gays er I mean homosexuals get that accent? Do straights have an accent?

Croaker, I'll bet that most people on this site would have to go look up their protocols because mag isn't a drug routinely given. I can count on one hand how many times I've given it and I think I'd have at least one finger left over.

But I have no problem using my current make and model equipment, I don't need a upgrade.
