so how many virgins are we talking about? sorry for offending AK, but for a religion(some peoples interpretation of that religion) and that they will get a certain amount of virgins and they will be martyred if they cut off the heads of people or drag them through the streets of a town and then set em on fire all in the name of Allah I do have a problem with that. But I know that there are many peaceful islamists out there and many peaceful muslims out there but the acts of a few sort of dirty it for the masses. If you go and blow yourself up in the name of Allah and Jihad then there is something really truly wrong with your view on what your religion stands for. Now are there bad apples in christianity??? sure there are, a lot of em but I don't think I remember in recent times (within the last 10 years) a christian cutting the head off of someone in the name of religion or going on a suicide bombing run in the name of religion or their interpretation of religion. I can't recall anyone of the Christian faith doing that. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I just haven't read it but hey I guess it may have happened. Am I intolerant of this type of behaviour, hell yes I am, from anyone doing violence in the name of their religion and I guess I'll remain intolerant. You have seen more than I have, you have been in the forefront of the war over there as long as I've known you and you have a thicker skin than I but I just don't understand their way of thinking. I guess I never will but it still doesn't mean that what they are doing is WRONG but that is only according to my belief system.

Are you opposed to those who have the virus to be forced to not work while they have the illness? Are you opposed to companies forcing you to stay home while you are sick? If you are infectious do you oppose requirements to stay home instead of letting you work?

Ok, ok ok ok I broke down last wednesday and got the h1n1 vaccine. I have had not a single negative effect from the vaccine. I also took the flu shot and had no reaction or adverse reaction to it. I have said all the while that you should make your own mind up about the vaccine. I have seen many patients in the ER over the past two weeks and they have all had the flu or H1N1 and it's not a pretty site. Coughing, spitting up, fever, body aches, pain, headaches and just the overall looking like shit. If these vaccine keep me from looking and feeling like these poor saps look and feel like, then I'm gonna get the vaccine. Will some people have reactions or get sicker? YEP sure they will. Will someone taking an over the counter drug or a new prescription medication have a reaction YEP sure they will. But the majority of people who get these vaccines or take these medications do not have any problems. I'm not comfortable with anyone getting sick but the alternative is worse. Michael

Ok, well here is the site for the california DL51 exam. If you have any of the conditions listed in this form then you will be ineligible for passing this exam. Here is the link to the form. Print it out, then take it to your family physician and see if he can do it. More than likely you will need a physician certified to perform this examination but who knows. No different than charging a patient for a cardiac monitor that the patient didn't need. Or charging for a pulse ox on a fractured ankle. How is that justified? Or doing a 12 lead on a patient with no indications for needing a 12 lead. Just because we have the equipment doesn't mean we need to use it all, right? Or flying a patient with a isolated ankle injury just because the local hospital doesn't have ortho services and the drive will be an hour or so long. Justifiable NOPE

This scenario reeks of cluster and pucker factor. If you have to adapt then by all means you do what you have to do to save the patients life. Well, this is actually the same thing. The patient gets charged more, they see the bill and they don't pay. Then they get hit with collection charges and interest from collection agencies. So yeah, this is kind of really the same thing.

Unfortunately we won't see any money from charging the patient extra. Reason - insurance and people don't pay it anyway. When our service gets 25bucks from Medicare or medicaid for a cardiac monitor, what makes you think that they will pay for the extra charge for us dealing with the fat person.

Phil, I still think you are overreacting and being to harsh on these guys. I know your opinions will not change but I respect your opinion but I think you are wrong in my opinion. Vacuuming works spraying doesn't as there will just be another 1000 to take their places After the first freeze they will be gone. I vacuumed up an entire cannister full of them at my farm just in the last two days. they are back in droves again in the house.
