  1. whoever has the most money gets the best equipment
  2. Spenac, I agree with you. I can play nice with any patient out there and I do assist in getting them the alternate help that they need. But in my area, our hospital is the main catchment area of all the services. What I do is work with our social services department to address the needs of the patient. I call the appropriate agencies such as Department of Aging, Social services and whatever other agency that I can get them in touch with so I do not abdicate my responsibility on that end. But I do stand by my statements in the previous post of mine.
  3. you know after many ruminations and random thoughts, I have come to this conclusion. I'll transport anyone and everyone. It is only an hour at most out of my day. I get paid to transport or not transport. If they want to go they get to go. If they don't then they don't unless I think they need to go and then I'll try to talk em into goin. It cost me NOTHING to smile and be nice for an hour or less. I used to get bent out of shape on these people but I realized that it's not my problem if they want to be transported or not. I get paid the same either or. Surely everyone on this forum can act nice for an hour or so, or can they???????
  4. I will be meeting Matt this week for dinner in my area. I also hope to see Darlene again and meet her Spousal Unit.
  5. ROCK ON this should have happened sooner but the fact that it's happening is a good thing.
  6. What the heck is goin on with these truckers This bad wreck The wreck in Oklahoma that hurt many The wreck in Peculiar MO where a semi that did not slow ran into a fire truck and caused the semi driver to be airlifted to a trauma center. Do they just not think, or look ahead? It's kind of hard not to miss the construction equipment and signs or the red lights of a fire truck on the highway. Or is there something more involved here like back in the 70's where stimulant abuse was rampant. Could this be a recurrence of that problem Or am I reading too much into it?
  7. Right on then, just make sure that you take the in class course. You will get nothing out of the driving portion of the class if you don't actually do the driving
  8. Well back in the day before drivers ED, I got my training from my father in a huge parking lot and then out onto the roadway. Was it legal, nope, was it good training? YeP. GTA on the computer/console is no excuse for getting a good drivers education. Getting your EVOC online is just as silly as saying you got good training playing GTA or GT on the Wii. If you want to get EVOC then go the extra mile and go to a class. It might require you to drive 120 miles like the course I posted or you can go the online route. The benefits of in person class outweigh the online convenience. If you are going to take the online class then you prove yourself to be one of the lazy people who wants to take the EASY way out.
  9. Nah, not really. I just didn't find it funny I do think it was well made though. Production quality was pretty good. I did learn about tea though. But I just didn't find it funny but then again, I didn't find "the 40 year old virgin" funny nor any of the recent movies out there that are supposed to be funny.
  10. friend sent this to me.
  11. This site has a class every month. In orlando. That's about 120 miles away from you. http://www.fireacademy.org/PDF_Files_Courses/EVOC.pdf
  12. What area are you from? I'm sure someone can help you out.
  13. The reason why it was "stupid" is that this is another example of taking the easy way out instead of going the professional route and doing a full class. It's like the example I gave. You don't expect a surgeon to learn to take out a appendix by going to Brown Mackie College so why would you want to take a emergency driving class online when you WILL NOT get any driving instruction. If you want to take the easy way out then go ahead but don't be surprised if you realize that you have wasted your money taking it online when you have to retake the class at your job. Plus any ambulance service that would accept an EVOC class with no driving lab is not a service you want to be associated with. Good luck on your future endeavors, I really do wish you luck but you should save your money for online classes that should be online. Now if the online course has the content on line and the actual lab or driving instruction is held in person then by all means take it online.
  14. hmmmmmmm so you are wanting to learn how to drive an emergency vehicle by taking an online course. That's like a surgeon taking a class on how to take out your appendix through brown Mackie College. Just find a in person class. You will be a better driver for it.
  15. Lone, don't you mean "Mouscreants"???????
  16. But Dwayne, you gotta admit, You want one of those blue mice don't ya.
  17. I would rather watch paint dry or a dead persons fingernails grow but it is an important class. The key to ICS is that everyone needs to be trained on it but what do you do when you don't have your volunteer departments who have even heard of ICS. This is the weak link in our county.
  18. Actually Brent, I believe that both our babies are to be born in Missouri. Thats worthwhile don't you think???????
  19. Yep that happens a lot.
  20. nekkid
  21. Get a really really long saw or pair of scissors and start a cuttin. but in all honesty, I think that someone needs to go climbin.
  22. Since we are on the discussion of crappy cops et al. What does everyone think of the Harvard Professor who was arrested the other day???? Apparantly he's good friends with Obama and that apparantly got Obama to say that the cop acted "stupidly" which of course he has since backtracked on that statement. What is the current conventional wisdom on EMT City regarding this turn of events? Was it racial profiling or was it a case of a professor wanting to get in the news and the professor escalated the situation to a boiling point? thoughts and discuss.
  23. I think we need to find a new horse to beat.
  24. I think I tweeted once, then I stopped. I keep getting messages from twitter regarding people following me. They are gonna be super bored.
