  1. Guys, never said they were great sites, just neat sites.
  2. Flash Cards for EMS Great site - slightly outdated but mostly current. http://www.quirkytowers.com/EmsDocs1.html And another good site http://www.medtrng.com/quia.htm
  3. one of these days you may have to treat one of those Yahoo's and then let's see how they treat you.
  4. I am not nationally registered. I don't have those restrictions thank fully. I purchased about 120 hours from CE Solutions and will hopefully complete them while I am getting my insane paycheck for doing nothing. But I want to be prepared for each eventuality which may mean I will have to go back to medic work.
  5. OUCH Dust, you really are in a pissy mood. I keep praying for ya though.
  6. boy what I wish for the reputation points to return. Are ya mad at me buddy? I called you the other day and you didn't call me back.
  7. CE solutions acredited in Missouri. 2 year unlimited hours I have lots of time for this.
  8. 150 hours in a month or so. I know I can do it. I just need some accredited online refresher courses.
  9. I have been having a tremendous feeling of bad decisions being made on my part. I am due to expire licensure in 1 month. I am currently on the bench right now at my current job - getting paid to do nothing I did some career searching and deep thinking and realized that I need to get off the road and staying a travelling consultant is not where I want to be. I want to watch my son's games and the like and being gone monday thru thursday and sometimes friday is not the way to do it. So, in a nutshell - I need a quick down and dirty way to get 150 hours of CEUs - 2 refresher course of 48 hours each and then an additional 48 hours of PALS, ACLS and PHTLS. I'm in Missouri and am able to travel to classes. I would much PREFER to do all this on-line. I need some alternatives and online courses. AK, you did this didn't you?
  10. A math professor who I go to church with said that the math was wrong, it's 425.00 per person.
  11. I'm sorry but after a certain number of these crashes why doesn't the FAA ground these fleets until things can be reviewed.
  12. operating outside of protocols or beyond them? Yes, one time. had a man trapped in a crevass about 6 miles off the road. His knee was dislocated and no pulses to his feet and he'd been trapped for about 3 hours. No medical control due to no cell phones or radio contact at that point. gentle inline traction on his leg, felt pop, got good pulses and all was good. medical control asked me why I did what I did, I told him I felt it was in the patients best interest and no issues after that. Is that what this absent original poster is asking? by the way, where is the phantom poster? Maybe in chat?
  13. Another disgrace to the profession who should have her license pulled and then fired and forced to make dog food at the local Ralston Purina factory. Disgraceful
  14. they should have been fired, licenses pulled and restricted to flipping burgers at Mcdonalds. these guys are a disgrace ot this profession. I'll bet the mothers attorney is getting ready to file a multi million dollar wrongful death lawsuit, "Ma'am, who do we write the check out to? " and can we name the fire department building after your daughter?
  15. I would bet that the cloudy urine was in a catheter bag that had not been changed for the past 3 - 5 weeks hence the cloudy nasty urine.
  16. ok I'll put the first serious question out there As far as the economy goes, who do you think will lead us in the right direction. All we hear about from McCain is that Barack will raise taxes and increase government spending to the tune of billions of dollars. From the Obama's camp we hear that McCain is one in the same as George Bush and his policies. Who do you think is correct and why?
  17. actually, the public doesn't know how uneducated 1200 hours is. They just see 1200 hours or so and say "Duh, that's a lot of hours" The public doesnt' know any better.
  18. I may take you up on that. My current company is based out of indy. Off Penn Street.
  19. Not a tough decision to make at all. I have been working as a travelling ER Consultant for the past 7 years and travel monday thru thursday. When I get home I spend time with family. NO time allowed really to get CEU's and ACLS and all those classes. I put it off and off getting all the classes and yesterday when I looked at my medic license I saw it expires in less than one month. I have 4 hours of CEU's, no acls, no pals, no cpr and that kind of stuff and no time to pursue those classes. So I said, self', You need to let go, it's not like you have taken care of a patient in the past 6 years, you just need to let it go. So I thought about it and decided, this is a good time. Just let the old career die. I am actually working on getting off the road and into a project management role or a management role at a large corporation or I'm looking into starting my own business of connecting (internet wise and computer wise) Churches. They are an untapped market. They rely on church members to do this and most church members have no clue and just jury rig things. Who knows but the old self "medic Ruffems" is retired, and the new self "non-medic Ruffems" will haunt everyone's lives here at EMT city.
  20. Well after 19 years in EMS I have officially hung up my stethoscope. I have not really been practicing ems for about 6 years but I've kept current but I have not the time nor the energy to complete the states relicensure requirements. So my tenure as a licensed paramedic ends at the end of October. I will stay on here but my ambulance days are over which I have mixed feelings about. that is all
  21. but if you keep it up for that long then you will be the bonafide top poster at emtcity. A dubious distinction indeed.
  22. there is no way that this will get locked, but just to keep it rolling, my dad can beat up your dad.
  23. hmmmm 5.59 posts per day this award goes to Brentoli2
  24. I agree dust, the criminal who rapes and murders a young 18 year old girl gets multiple chances yet the girl he slaughtered got no chances.
  25. Sorry euthanizing a criminal as just punishment for his crimes is not euthanasia. It's the state killing someone. Not that I disagree with the death penalty, but to equate carrying out a death sentence to euthansia gives a black eye to all the people who want to die with dignity.
