  1. I agree, when it comes to dangerous for fire fighters to go in and recover their dead in a conflagration, it's too dangerous to go in that mine and keep looking. 16 days I believe and counting. slim hope of finding anyone alive. my prayers are for the losses of everyone in the mine and associated with it.
  2. 12 hour shifts for 3 days then 4 off and then 4 days fo 12 hours and 3 days off.
  3. I like the device but it does look like it would provide some new challenges on patient spinal immobilization. Education as always is key here.
  4. congratulations. I think that since they test you on all this obscure stuff then we must see it all the time in the field. Right?
  5. obsession, calvin klein I too am surprised by the obsession statement. No-one here has asked what your company does. Maybe in PM's they have but seriously, can you point out a single person on this thread who has obsessively asked about your company. You have given some pretty cryptic answers to our posts yet you get all upset at the same.
  6. everything Terri asked and ambient heat outside last ate or drank any history of previous illness
  7. In all seriousness, was there anything else in the ambulance that you could have done other than get him to definitive treatment. Sounds like the guy needs to be followed more extensively.
  8. I would have taken over my dad's job when he retired.

  10. I actually believe that anywhere a person has a expected right to privacy, a locker room, bathroom or bedroom then cameras cannot be there, period. I'd like to see the case law on this but I'm pretty sure that a bedroom or sleeping quarters are considered someplace private.
  11. I think your two biggest hurdles will be what spenac said malpractice and liability insurance and medical direction. What about protocols?
  12. the perfect match, made in heaven
  13. I never really thought of that. What woudl the fine be if they didn't move out of the way and got a citation for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. I'm sure there are ways to get around this. Don't the cameras take a picture of the entire lanes of traffic?
  14. EMS is a calling, heaven knows none of us here do it to get rich. Explore all your options, keep an open mind and when you do get hired, never, I repeat never stop learning.
  15. while we're at lowering the legal drinking age we can lower some other stuff like they want to in California and other places. Age of consent - 12 years old. I personally think that the drinking age of 21 is ok and I also think that with the age limit like it is it has kept some people alive by their following the rules. But I'm not a politician so I don't get to make these rules.
  16. kmac, great avatar. I like it.
  17. kmac, I'm rooting for ya. I hope all works out for you.
  18. any update on Ron? prayers to the entire family of people down there.
  19. any question is fair game.
  20. how old are you? that will determine a lot on who will hire you. If you are younger than 21 or 25 it might be hard to get on with some services due to insurance.
  21. good to have you back and I'm right there with you in your christian beliefs.
  22. she's runnin her mouth again.
  23. I agree. I was just questioning the ethical basis of ending life to get an organ.
  24. as long as they don't hit the end of the runway then I'm ok with landing.
