  1. Yeah but Maryland has "Cardiac Rescue Technicians" how cool is that? I mean gush, what an awesome title, like super whacker The King airway is essentially the same as an LMA, it isolates the trachea a bit better I will admit however. Supraglottic airways are bloody fab and so easy, you just shove it down thier gob! We have been using LMAs in New Zealand since about 2005 and they work very well.
  2. The New Zealand Fire-Rescue Service and the Professional Firefighters Uniin are both vhemontly against doing any form of medical call beyond first response in rural areas to categorised, high priority emergencies. They will carry a semi automatic defib, oxygen, bag mask and a resus/first aid pack. Firefighters on first responder brigades are trained to First Responder level which is a three day course..
  3. *Kiwi raises his syrup bottle in a toast Thoughts to all the medics, thier families, coworkers, friends and neighbours.
  4. Or thier family do, oh yes the unconscious diabetic relative takes his insulin ... and so on I suppose I've told a few people "oh it'll be OK not to worry" or something like that when I know full well they're pretty crook
  5. Damn straight mate .... yes hello there my name is Kiwi and I'm a competent ambo here to make things better Or some load of shit like that at any rate ....
  6. For once I am not blaming the New World Order .... Good work mate
  7. He's a drunk who threw up; I'd be inclined to clean him up and drop him off at home or he might end up at the cop shop
  8. The only threat at the airport, and at the supermarket, drycleanr, your house ... you know, pretty much everywhere is the New World Order Ugly knows where its at pssst hey Rothschild, up yours!
  9. The TSA are freaking hopless honestly, I caught them asleep at the x ray machine as well as on benches, reading magazines, texting, and just generally making idiots of themselves. I think thier job description reads "to make white people and republicans feel safer"
  10. How the heck did you plan on intubating this guy? Please tell me they didn't give you suxamethonium and etomidate / ketamine / midazolam or the like.
  11. Righto, you can drive and I'll do the hard work in the back such as taking blood pressures and giving R40s
  12. Knew I should have stayed in USAR. SERT were probably too busy looking flash in thier green jumpsuits anyway. Glad to hear you guys are OK. I already have my survival pack for when the New World Order come .... my guess is it works for an earthquake too
  13. Good on you mate, glad to see you're doing OK down south Now, did SERT from Auckland come down and give you guys a hand?
  14. *Kiwi chokes on his cucumber sammich and spits out his warm beer Oh damn it to the bowels of bloody hell! Never have I seen the focus on clock stopping than the UK with its downright perverse obsession with triage and "call connect" so heck the Fire and Rescue Services might have a fighting chance here. Now, how many Firefighters want to go to University for two (FdSc) or three (BHSc) years to get qualified as a State Registered Paramedic?
  15. *runs down to Home Depot and buys the first door he finds that will float so he can wash up on the Florida coast Where should Edwardo Miguel Juarez de Ambulancino el Kiwi apply?
  16. Good to see you guys have ketamine too now .... is there a link on the interweb to your new protocols?
  17. ... and since when were we intubating anybody anymore?
  18. Why must everything come back to bloody [bio]chemistry .... I knew I should have taken it!
  19. We have IM, IN and IV naloxone however it seems that future change might see it removed in favour of good airway and circulatory support rather than directly reversing the opiate in the field
  20. bloody hell that guys strabismus is worse than mine!
  21. Whip out an LMA, shove it down thier gob and blow up the cuff .... viola! So simple even a Firefighter can master it! If that doesn't work call for an RSI trained Intensive Care Paramedic or Doctor provided they can locate you significantly faster than the patient can be delivered to hospital.
  22. Well its lesser of the two evils anyway,
  23. If you've graduated medical school and done your Intern/House Officer year why in the bloody hell would you want to go do a couple hundred hours of class and become a Para-technician and work on the ambo? Go become a Consultant in emergency medicine or something.
  24. come comrades let us unleash untold ferocious and passionate anger and unrelenting vengence upon the devils in red trucks who seek to destroy the progress of the talented and passionate paramedics seeking elevation of paramedicine! where is pastor turnip when you need him
