"Ballroom Blitz" - Sweet
-
Yes, it was Yamamoto. He was quite the naval officer himself. In later memoirs he said he became concerned when the mission "went too well" and that how much more wide spread the path of destruction was. Other than not having any carriers tied up, they couldn't have done much better. But he did call off a third attack that was scheduled. He knew that they had done all they could do, any more damage (other than the carriers) would just be over-kill. He knew that there was no longer any more of the element of surprise and knew he would have lost more of his own aircraft. For 9-11 they had three of their four parts of their plan that were a success. If it wasn't for the information "grid" on Flight 93, (how and when some passengers were receiving the news of what else was going on), they knew they were part of a larger scheme that was being unfolded at that time. You know they put '2 + 2' together and knew they had to do something. There were probably several plans conceived quickly. But each one knew they were going to have to do it by force, basically overwhelming and over running them, Most probably knew some would die trying. And I think it's safe to say they knew they were going to crash. They just didn't want it to make it to their designation. But in the back of my mind, there's been something that's been eating away at me for years. I wonder if there was a plan for one of the passengers to try to get into the cockpit and reach the controls. I seriously doubt that the place could be flown very far, but may have been able to gain enough control to not crash immediately. Perhaps even be talked down for a "controlled crash". I know that may sound corny, but that's just something I've always wondered about.

Hang in there, darlin'. It'll get better, I promise. If not, then I'll come over there and bunny-punch their knee caps. It sounds so much like I went through. One thing is, if there is any certain individual(s), be strong. Don't give them the satisfaction of getting the better of you. Some may just being testing you, and some may just be d!ck-heads. Even though they are giving you a hard time, you can still learn from them. Keeping you rotating with different crews (preceptors) isn't right. You need to be consistent in your training. Once you are proficient enough, then have you move on to another which who is someone else to learn from. Then try and combine or incorporate what you had previously learned from someone else and those you are learning from now. Don't show any weakness or that things are getting to you. If you have a boss or someone in a position of authority, talk to them...but don't do it while showing emotion. If they see you starting to see you cry, yell, get upset, or show a lot of stress, they can interpret that as a weakness. And even if it is suppose to be in "confidentuality", don't you believe it. And one thing is, do not complain.Speak up if you have an idea. Even if they are so "high & mighty", they know you are thinking things out in your head. You'll do good, babe. We 're all here for you. Ask anything. If you need to vent or blow off steam, that's what we're here for. Now go out there and work your butt off.

Please don't let my 17 yr. old know that a version like that is out there. :puke: "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" - Otis Redding

By the title of the subject I was going to say that if you needed help with a rhythm, that you needed to snap your fingers and tap your feet more. :headbang: Your joke was funnier. I'm going to have to save that one.

Now, that's good. :sign5: :happy1:

We had at least one guy that either during or after a trauma assessment would look for the tag on a bra to see what size it was. He'd even take bets on it.

Sounds like a good idea for some services to have for themselves. Having clergy available when ever and where ever needed, for the staff.

Man, you never let me get around to ask about pregnancy or if on her period. Also, was she cute?

Hate to hear it, man. Went through it myself. But you gotta do what you gotta do. If you're in the S. IL area let me know and you can buy me some wings and beer.

Sit Ups: Reaching up to hit the snooze button. Leg stretches: Bending over to pick up the dog's food and water dish. Light arm weight lift: Lifting coffee cup, repeat. Leg lifts: Getting into an out of the shower. Get my meaning?

Too many what if's, and scenario possibilities/ probabilities to give an absolute answer. And the answer would probably be such a snap decision that it could go either way.

Can a person with a felony work for the fire rescue?
firedoc5 replied to medic1978's topic in General EMS Discussion
Check with your state, county, city. Basically any municipality you may be active in. I know at one point in IL some counties were so short handed that they had in-mates run calls, supervised of course. Worked with a few of them after they got out and one became one of my best friends. I know you probably don't want to divulge what your crime was, but most cases it depends on that on what can dictate whether or not you can become an EMT. So do your home work. Actually even write your Senator and/ or State Rep. Maybe they can put a good word in for you. If you do get the green light, good luck. -

You know I'm biting my tongue on what I think of first when you have the phrase DD.

I know this is a stupid question, but, Obama is calling for change, a lot of changes, but is it actually feasible and realistic that he can make those changes in 4-8 yrs.? And it's not just Washington he wants to change, it's the people. You can't change people over the course of a few years. It's sort of like having to wait for generations of politicians to "die" out, be it physically or loss of their office's. OK, I'm done with what seems like a kindergartner at a Harvard meeting.

That'll do it. -
I can check with an ex-EMT from the Hot Springs and Berryville areas. Got family from all over AR but don't know of any of them being EMT's. One thing I do know is that EMS around the Hot Springs area is/ or least was top notch. With so much tourist dollars coming in they couldn't give the money away.

I'm not a "politico", so you won't see me post here much, but I will be watching every now and then. I did see some of the debate. My first impression(s), Both had right and both had wrong answers and ideas. Obama, to me, seemed like a first time debate club capt. in college. A lot of uhs, ummms, pauses, etc. McCain seemed too stiff and had too many "letter perfect answers". Please correct me if I'm wrong, just don't hit me. Like I said, deep politics is not my things, even though it should be.

Both Dawn and Rich has posted my thoughts of reasoning. Thank you both. Believe me, I'm not for it OR against it, but am leaning more for it. If they should run with an ambulance they'll need some introduction and what to expect. You can't just throw 'em in the back and tell them to hang on.

It is by no means Taboo here. It's just not brought up all that often, especially when it comes to the "hard core" stuff. By all means, throw something out there and see if you get a bite. But I do have to warn you, some may have some very strong beliefs of wich you will need that thick skinned that you mentioned before.

She got my vote. :usa2: Seriously, I realized a long time ago that there wasn't much discussion about politics. What politics were discussed usually had some dealing with just one or just a couple of issues. I know this is being posted in the "Non-EMS Discussion" area, which is very much appreciated. But as you can note, there are a lot of other areas in this forum. Many of which most members here are more concerned about than politics. And yes, I know it's an election year and politics in general should be on everybody's mind. But the main membership on this forum politics are not as crucial . But on the other hand, you get some of these folks from this forum and put them in a political forum, where it is more appropriate than having on an EMS/Fire forum, the "Katie, bar the door!" Yes, I'm meaning you Dust Devil, Spenac, Terri, Dwayne, and others that shall be nameless, can give you a run for your money then give you a run for your kid's piggy bank,no matter what your Party is. (Oh, and there may be a few there just because they heard "Party". So my two cents is, You don't come to a EMS/Fire/Rescue forum looking for a political fight. Some may take you on, but only to a very minor point.
