  1. If the leaders of EMS wanted everything to go into the house, we'd have no cabinets, and 30 bags. There is NO REASON to take a cot in on every call. Expediant care is not the five minutes it takes to drag a cot across the lawn. Period. Initiate care, then transport. PS: Exceptions as stated; Highrises, Nursing homes, and other limited access calls where patient transport would be EXPONENTIALLY delayed by not taking the cot. ...and yes, I said cot. HA!
  2. I used this after an interview last week, actually turned the end result around. Again, great idea brother... James
  3. now, should medics be doing charts for patients they let their Basic take?
  4. No, I mean everything AND the litter. I have no problem bringing bags to the patient. NO LITTER into a residence until you have a chance to check things out, and do what needs done.
  5. Full setup for anything non residential. Residences based on dispatch, bag only, if that. The truck is my workshop, not the floor of the house.
  6. No, yes, yes, yes 3 of 4 organizations give free reign, not sure of the 4th. Leather is NOT Osha compliant kids. If its on the truck, throw it away, burn it, or please mail it to my house at this address... PRPG Firerescuetech 123 PRPG Rd. PRPG, PA 98765 Thanks for helping me help you, stay OSHA compliant

  8. Please punch your boss in the face, for me, then beat him with the pulse oxes you have. Thank you. XOXO PRPG
  9. -500 for inappropriate point reduction EMS Discussion: An open forum for EMS related discussions on EMS topics not related to other forums. There is no "woo hooo" forum...making this the most apporpriate Oh yeah, and congrats tattoo mama...
  10. LOL...word....
  11. Basic pay is variant on region, how the system is set up, and how your basics are utilized. Look towards the Northeast, and Deep southwest for the higher paying systems, and any area around a major city. Otherwise, look towards industrial work, the oil drilling industry (they are hiring basics more and more these days) and event companies. Good luck. Keep expanding your education, ride as much as you can, and volunteer until you build up your reputation as one on the "non-Retard" list. PRPG
  12. -20 for pointless posting
  13. Barbacues in the basement, wheelchair races, hide and go seek, scavenger hunts... ....yep....night shift was the place to be...*tear*
  14. I read it as he wondered if a college degree, as a seperate program from his basic curriculum would assist him in his travels as an EMT. College degrees certainly help...dont think he meant a basic college level program... ,......even though Basic program should be a college level program...but thats for another thread, and a dozen past ones,.....
  15. I agree... EMT-Basic for the most part is monkey work, once you figure out the gist of it. Not many places request a degree, but would be more likely to hire you if you had one... ...just what my experience has been. PRPG
  16. Shhhh, you weren't supposed to tell anyone about that trip!!! To all, ill be selling the pics of medibrat and my rockclimbing trip on ebay. bidding starts at 500 bucks. Happy Bidding! The person below me has walked into work not wearing pants...and not been fired for it.
  17. FREAKS...not what I meant! Damn medics...ugh....anyway.... Ive said before, and ill say it again. EMS needs a definable PR rep to handle educating the country on the uses and services provided by Emergency Medical Service here in the US and around the world. How would you do it? How do you show the world what we do?
  18. Hugo. You've proven they suck. Show mke that you dont. You seem to do well at flaming IAEP / SEIU, lets be an adult and prove NEMSA. Til then, your just another Spammer. PRPG
  19. Ummm, spam? Anyway...AMR does some non emergent work in Philadelphia...based on Walnut St. No emergency contracts at all in Eastern PA
  20. 13% Dixie. Wow! You are a Duke of Yankeedom! ...thats be bout right *heads off to look for a hoagie, tastycake, and wawa coffee*
  21. I bitched out a gangster, because im sexy, and I do what I want.
  22. http://www.emtcity.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.ph...&highlight= LOL! Happy Birthday!
  23. Consider your district unusual at best. I didnt have a code my first three years in EMS. At an average of 700-900 calls per year. Now I get them almost weekly. Its the law of averages. PRPG
  24. Outside of city systems, that isnt the case. Getting tubes is intrinsic on people dying. If people dont die on your shift, then you dont get tubes. Simple math really... We had a medic go a full yearm without a single patient to attempt on... Just the law of averages. PRPG
