  1. Thanks Doc. I've been using qualitative tests for cTnI/myo, Acetaminophen Overdoses, methanol, and my hospital likes to use 10 panel urine DOA tests for determining what meds/drugs may be on board a patient. They can't do a tox screen here.
  2. I think the istat is overpriced. There are many other tools out there that can provide many similar results for far cheaper. For example, do we need to spend $16 per cartridge over the cost of the device to get a quantitative cTnI result, or is it just good enough to know that it is elevated into the levels that we know myocardium damage is occurring for $13 a test?
  3. I just saw that PSA at a conference yesterday...it was pretty awesome to watch on many levels. Gotta give it to the Brits...they make spectacular PSAs.
  4. ahhhh, That makes perfect sense. Thanks!!!
  5. I can't see how you're surprised. No worries Phil....the nut jobs over there are beyond help. You can still save most of us here.
  6. And those are just the mods.
  7. Somehow I figured ICE would end up involved in this.
  8. Eden is a great kid, I've known her since she was born and was thrilled to hear when she decided to follow a career in EMS. I have no doubt in my mind that she would have won this award as well if she'd actually had some competition.
  9. Missed it. See? I suck at scenarios,
  10. You've got time, why hasn't anyone asked for a right side 12 lead?
  11. ROFL, they probably thought you were me trying to sneak back in. I've been banned for life from there and I'm quite proud of that. So proud that I have never had the desire to try to return to that $hit hole and their moronic moderators. Welcome to the club.
  12. It's a running joke. I guess pericarditis for everything.
  13. Yeah, he won...poor bugger.

  15. Hey, what about the paramedic who ran for Mayor of Kelvington? Why wasn't there a newsbot report on him?
  16. Strange that the Seattle Fire Dept. would make a safety video based on a collision that occured in North Carolina. An interesting watch nonetheless.
  17. Pericarditis as a result of Cardiosepsis causing the hyperglycemia and a febrile seizure...the temp is tympanic I assume? How is it or is it calibrated? I usually end up adding 2 degrees to a tympanic temp to get an equivalent core temp. One day someone will actually post a pericarditis case...I know it.
  18. Jeb Tate, an EMS spokesman, said paramedics were responding to a call at the discount store when they returned to the vehicle and saw a boot on the tire. He said the emergency workers had left the lights flashing the entire time.
